As for Rondo, we'll see. If a Love trade went down before next summer, Wolves would have his Bird Rights and ability to add a 5th year or sign-and-trade. Means more for him than it would mean for Love.

5th year SnT's are over and done with, broseph.

Well aware, Clarence.

Carry on.

Lin/Asik is what many here are assuming are involved.

They may be involved, just not to us, to a 3rd team who gives us draft picks like Phoenix or Charlotte as examples.

Our net could look like: Parsons + TJones and two firsts from the third team and Rondo/Green going to Houston.

Lots of interesting chatter from Houston fans here:

http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.ph ... 06&page=16

They think giving up Parsons is too much!!!!

Guess everyone overvalues their players.

Now, how does that work, exactly? Does SAC contact Rondo thru back channels and ask him how he feels about resigning or does Ainge say "hey Rondo, got a good trade for you on the table from Sac, they just wanna know if you'll resign." I mean I doubt Ainge does that and I doubt SAC offers anything without Rondo's assurance, so it must be backchannels, right?

Any of the above. His agent can talk to whoever he likes.

This is a significantly better trade. McLemore is still a potential, we get a serviceable young point guard, and two easily tradable or potentially very valuable draft picks.

I don't know, I hate all these Rondo trades pretty equally. Call me crazy, I want a comparable player or a top 3 pick coming back before I even discuss trading Rondo. McLemore isn't that guy, Thomas isn't that guy and while Chandler is the best of the bunch he's not that guy either. I couldn't care less about first round picks at this point unless they're lottery picks. WE HAVE TOO MANY PICKS.

Let's just face it: people are talking and that's it. Lots of teams want Rondo and Danny wants to talk about Green and Bass and Hump and bringing back another star and they keep talking past each other because everyone wants what they can't have or doesn't want to pay for. With 3 more days left to negotiate they're just gathering information not actively working out deals.

Maybe LBF can weigh in at some point, but it seems all we hear about is what other teams want from us? What kind of crazy ish is Danny trying to acquire? That's what I'd like to know.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

All good. But also worth mentioning that adding Rondo in a Parsons deal doesn't prevent you from signing Love, just from resigning Parsons after you did so. Looks like a pretty good hedge to me. If you can convince Love to come, see ya later Rondo. Otherwise, you have the inside track on keeping a guy who gives you sorely needed playmaking and big-game moxie. Rondo wears his faults on his sleeve, but you can go to war with that guy. None of your current players have proven that to be true, IMO.

Trading for Rondo makes sense for Houston, but why the hell would we do it? Unless there is more going on behind the scenes with Rondo it makes zero sense. Our best player for maybe a 3rd option at best on a contender? They both have the same amount of years left on their contracts and both will be looking to get paid, my preference would be to pay Rondo every day of the week.

This doesn't have Danny's fingerprints on it IMO.

That board is a train wreck beyond their insiders. It's like a girl fight in there, and suuuuuuper homertastic (lol @ calling Rondo an upgraded Beverly or not wanting to deal Parsons for him).

I believe the guy that these are what the GMs in question are looking for. That doesn't mean they will get it, nor should it be taken that way IMO.

What does it mean for someone to be an insider ? .I know what it means, but I want a precise definition of what it entails.

That Lakers 3-way that donkey tweeted was pretty tight. That Lakers pick would give us two in the Top 10 this summer, plus we get Alex Len and another pick, and cap relief too? I'd fly to Boston just to drive Rondo and Green to the airport if that was really on the table.

Nobody seems to know exactly what he does for a living, but he seems to know or have access to information from the front office. Directly or from friends of a friend, who really knows. Has mentioned things in the past that have happened, but also others that have not. Think LBF or ddb...folks with access to folks with info

That is what I have gathered after reading the threads over there.

If Houston is willing to forego their 2015 capspace, Rondo/Gerry for Parsons/Asik/Lin/DMO/1st works. Then we're just a Jeff for B.Gordon/MKG/1st trade away from having enough capspace to go after Love next offseason.

Celtics call the shots when it comes to a Rondo trade. Two first rounders, ONE young guy AND you take Gerald Wallace sending us a big expiring. Either that or nothing. Think it's too much? find yourself another All star PG noobs.

The Knicks would actually fit the bill if they had any decent draft picks to deal. Amar'e, Shumpert, Hardaway JR, 2 firsts for Wallace, Faverani and Rondo would work for me.

Raptors fan here,

Would you trade Rondo and Wallace for Valancanius, Ross, DeRozan, 2015 Unprotected 1st round pick?
If not, would it be close at least?

If Lowry leaves, the Raptors need a PG. This years PG free agent crop isn't great

I think Rondo would look good as the core piece for the Raptors

LOL ...I didn't say I loved it, I just thought it was better. I see Rondo as one of a new big Three. I agree that it would be ideal to get either a top ten pick or a player of equal value straight up.

Appreciate the offer but Toronto would be insane to do that. They gut their entire team for Rondo so there'd be no one to put around him and no draft picks to replace Val, Ross, DD (too late in the game this year for you guys to go in the tank). It'd just be the Rondo show and he'd leave in free agency after losing 50+ games next year

I think that is the first EVER Rondo trade idea that I would do in a heartbeat. No way Toronto would do that.
