We're not going to get a starting SG for bynum. Bayless at least adds range to the bench and he's an expiring contract IIRC. It's a nothing trade at the end of the day tho.

I say we turn around and offer Bynum, Jerebko, Datome or Jerebko,Datome, Siva

Barrea could be useful as our back up PG, and Budinger would easily slot in the SF bench role

Tayshaun is trash who the hell would ever trade for him esp when he has 14M left

Is he still playing good D at least?

Tayshaun?

No he is playing like crap. He is considered to be one of the worst contracts in the league at 8M and that tells you something. He is constantly in the worst statistical categories on both offense and defense and every other game puts up a dud where he scores 2-3 pts and shoots abysmal percentages

6 pts, 3 rebounds on 39% FG, 31% 3PT in 27 Minutes

Just to give you an idea, Kyle Singler, who many people absolutely hate on these boards is putting up better stats and gets paid 7M less

9 pts, 4 rebounds, 44% FG, 35% 3PT in 26 minutes

Isn't Tony Allen involved as well? Could takingon Tay be the price for getting Allen

Cavs are desperate to get rid of Jack even going as far to trade for Jason Terry who can barely run let alone hoop

I would offer Charlie V and Bynum to the Cavs for Jack and either Clark or Gee

These are the types of moves Dumars should be looking to make instead he is staying put like he always does since he traded for Rasheed in 2004

Tayshaun was the centerpiece to the deal supposedly

Y! Sources: Minnesota, Memphis discussing trade package centered on Chase Budinger and Tayshaun Prince.

Also it seems Love was pissed at Chase's attitude earlier this year and the Wolves are trying to please Love

Can we trade back for Tayshaun so he can retire a Piston?

I would do:
Zbo, Tayshaun, Tony Allen
for
Smith, Jerebko, Stuckey, Bynum

As hilarious as this trade sounds if Memphis is that desperate to get rid of Tayshaun Id do the deal.

I wouldn't want Tayshaun back, but I'd love to get Allen

I hate Tayshaun's guts esp how he pouted, ballhogged, and destroyed whatever little chemistry we had before he left

However we get Zbo, a redo on Smith, dump Jerebko and Bynum, and gain Allen who would be a great mentor to KCP

Turn around and do the Cavs deal (Charlie V/Datome for Jack/(Gee or Clark) and we are set for a playoff run:

Jennings / Jack
Allen / KCP
Clark-Gee / Singler - Tay
Zbo / Monroe
Drummond / Harrelson

yeah I'm not sure I want to take on all that salary though, and we'd still be devoid of shooters. If we could then trade Monroe for shooters, it could work. Essentially exchange Monroe/Smith for Z-bo at PF, while addressing our perimeter D with Allen/Tay and our perimeter shooting with whatever shooters we get for Monroe. I'd do that, but seems too complicated to actually happen. I don't think Memphis is looking to trade Randolph and probably not for another PF with a bigger contract.

I have a weird feeling we're going to acquire Evan Turner. I'm going to be pissed if we do.

I would make this deal with Philly, then look to move Smith/Stuckey to NYC for Amare

Young, Turner, Richardson
for
Charlie V, Jerebko, Bynum, Monroe

Probably would see KCP going the other way - they want first rounders, we won't trade a future one but could trade last years one sorta deal. Caldwell-Pope and filler for Turner would help their tank...err...rebuild effort and give them three lottery picks from last years draft, a top 5 pick in this upcoming draft.

KCP + Jerebko for Turner works salary wise...

I remember Goodwill tweeting something during the last Philly meeting, like 'pistons fans might want to get familiar with Turner' or something like that.

It seems like a logical trade partner for us. His shooting is sketchy, but if we could get him for something cheap like KCP, and have the rest of the season to evaluate him as a rental before deciding if we want him longterm, I'd do that.

I have no confidencein KCP as a longterm answer at SG, so even if we end up not keeping Turner and it ends up we dumped KCP for nothing, I really wouldn't care that much. I would take the gamble on Turner for that deal.

^I have faith in KCP, but I don't think the Pistons are willing or able to wait for him to develop. I think he could be another Afflalo in time - but Detroit is in desperation playoffs mode while Philly could wait for him and would have a MCW, KCP and Nerlens Noel core along with a top 3-4 pick in this upcoming draft - Wiggins, Parker, Randle, Embiid could all fit into that core.

You wouldnt mind wasting our 8th overall pick on KCP then dumping him for someone that might eventually leave the Pistons?

Chalk KCP up as another Dumars fuxt up draft wise

I think Orlando would take Monroe for Afflalo

Afflalo, Big Baby
for
Charlie V, Monroe

Then we turn around and use Charlie V and KCP to grab Turner + Young

Jennings / Bynum
Afflalo / Stuckey
Turner / Singler
Smith / Young
Drummond / Harrelson

As much as I like afflalo I wouldn't give up moose for him. If I'm trading moose it's gotta be for a star.
