Re: Shaw Poll
I'd prefer TC just F'in trade Dre. This isn't just on Shaw, Miller WILL NOT play for the Nuggets anymore, just end it and move on. Coddling is for All-Stars, not an old vet like Dre. It undermines the authority Shaw is trying to establish.

Arthur on A. Miller, "You don't want Shaw to go back on his word. You want him to make a statement and stick to it."

Re: Shaw Poll
There is a way to stick to your word but still admit you were wrong if you were Shaw. 'Dre's gone now.
Idk I look at Dre blowing up in the middle of the arena as so unusual that there had to be something Shaw could have handled better.
Now that Dre's gone, Shaw's sticking to his guns is moot.
But then you get down to how you repair something expostfacto:
1) Andre Miller should have remained pro and not blown up. This was expectation of Shaw's. Maybe Miller had more of a problem than just the benching with Shaw, and the snapping of his iron man streak was the final straw. Still, Shaw had an expectation of professionalism for Andre to speak to him postgame not midgame.
2) There was an entire month where the only effort made was Shaw saying, "I'm still willing to coach Andre" -which Shaw should know comes off as sounding arrogant to Miller, a veteran. Maybe the right stance, but really poor choice of words unless Shaw's trying to fan the flames.
3) Ultimately, can this become a problem later with other players in a more critical situation? Like, we won't see a damn thing now but 1.5 years down the line will we have acquired another veteran and how will Shaw handle that.
For now, it is moot. I would have appreciated a more genuine approach from Shaw, and more open. I mean, once it's in the public eye, it's in the public eye.
Idk, I'm sure Karl had numerous hangups over his coaching career and plenty of lessons where he could have done better. Has a player ever felt the need to do that to Popovich or Jackson?......I know what would have happened if that player had done that though.

Re: Shaw Poll
At this point I'm done with Shaw and all I expect is for him to flounder another couple years and then get fired. Maybe that's unfair but he has completely lost this team and it goes way beyond injuries and lack of talent.
