Is Sam Bradford a bust...?

Post#1 » by Quake Griffin » Tue Feb 18, 2014 7:11 pm

or was he just in a bad situation in St. Louis?

could he thrive with a change of scenery?

On his best day he's the 12th best QB in the league, and he's had that best about 3 times in four years. Four of the last six years he's suffered a serious injury. He is what he is, unfortunately.

Saw that the Rams are not going to give him an extension, make him play out this year and then decide on options. Smart move.

Yes. The rams should've started looking for a new qb at least 2 years ago. The fact that it seems they're gonna put off getting one this year is laughable

I don't understand why they don't just tear the bandaid off this year. They're clearly at the bottom of the NFCW pile, and need to build for a couple years down the road to make a move when Seattle and SF start getting too expensive to keep together.

For a #/#1, yes he's a bust. #1/#1's are expected to, at the worst, be a solid starter. The Rams saw almost no dropoff at all when Bradford was replaced by Kellen Clemens.

The question is, do the Rams draft a QB with the #2 overall this time? Because without one, they're clearly #4 in that division(not sure how much a rook will help but at least they'd have a shot in the future).

With seattle, san francisco and arizona in that league? Yeah, hes a bust and they had better get a new QB immediately. Their division has went to multiple superbowls already. And predicted to push for another consecutive superbowl appearance.

For a 1# yes, but he is a quality young starter, I'd like to see him with a full season with the roster they will have, they have a good team and multiple assets.

He can still win as a starting QB, you can compete with him.
He is still by far the best QB from his draft and in a re-draft he will still go top10-15, so it wasnt that bad of a pick.

you can compete w/him if you're a loaded team like the 49ers or seahawks, that's about it cause he's not gonna win you games, he'll just manage not to f*ck it up, but you arent winning a title with him

and you want to waste a full season to see what he's got? that's another thing, he cant stay on the field

and looking at 1st round selections alone in his draft, he wouldnt go in the top 15

Horribly injury prone and very conservative even on his best days. He can be a good QB but you need someone with a lot more swagger and adventure to succeed in the NFC West as it is now.

As a Rams fan I'm not yet worried to give him another season mainly because the rest of the roster is just about rounding out into something good and while a playoff spot might look good next season there's still a bit more buildup to get there and frankly we need someone to drop off.

I can't make up my mind if Bradford is good enough to win a Super Bowl with. He might be. He seems to have the size and talent. I do know he's had hardly anything in the way of good targets to work with during his career.

He is not a bust, he is a legit NFL starter, but he will never be an elite QB.

He is not great, but by no means is he David Carr, or Vince Young, or Matt Leinart, who are legit "bust"

Bradford won't make many or any pro bowls, but i think he is good enough to lead an NFL team to a super bowl win if the Rams can get an elite defense or super running game.
