I'd be all for this:

Houston Out: Ronnie Brewer, Francisco Garcia, Robert Covington
Houston In: Jared Dudley, Byron Mullens

-Consolidates wing talent that doesn't play for a backup SF that plays solid D.

76ers Out: Spencer Hawes, James Anderson
76ers In: Francisco Garcia, Robert Covington, Antawn Jamison, Reggie Bullock

-Add a SF prospect for the future for a guy they aren't going to retain anyway.

Clips Out: Jared Dudley, Byron Mullens, Reggie Bullock, Antawn Jamison
Clips In: Spencer Hawes, James Anderson, Ronnie Brewer

-Get out of Dudley's deal and Mullens player option at the cost of Bullock while boosting their bench with a huge third big man upgrade. Brewer is a solid defensive three off the bench and James Anderson is a solid scoring guy to have off the bench as well. Barnes gets thrusted into the starting unit and Clippers bench looks like: Collison - Crawford - Brewer/Anderson - Hollins - Hawes.

Losing Bullock sucks, but think this is a deal that should be pushed. Houston might be the only questionable ones.

Clippers can also keep Jamison and use a portion of the TPE to acquire either Anderson or Brewer, but don't think that matters in the slightest.

Nash as 3rd String PG?

Post#703 » by Ranma » Sat Feb 15, 2014 12:55 am

Bill Simmons, Grantland (2/13/14)
As if that’s not a good enough wrinkle, here’s one more: Nash spent a good deal of energy, legal and financial, to guarantee his children would be raised in Los Angeles. He doesn’t want to move them again. When we talked that first night, he mentioned the “stretch provision,” a newish cap wrinkle that allows the Lakers to waive Nash’s final year, then “stretch” his $9.7 million cap number over as many as four years.6 It’s a fancy way for the Lakers, or any bumbling NBA team, to dilute the impact of a damaging contract. Nash believed the “stretch” buyout was a looming threat — if it happened, he’d probably retire unless the Clippers wanted him.

Approaching the Finish Line

Bonus: Nash appears in a mockumentary video on Baron Davis' comeback attempt.

Im going to throw this idea out there for you guys again

Glen Davis for Dudley and Bullock.

If you go back to the Celtics championship team with Doc might I add Davis had a very important role backing up Perkins and Garnett, they did a 3 big man rotation pretty much with them. Similar to the situation with the clips, you could have Davis backup both Jordan and Griffin.

i'm pretty sure that's a given... lol

i'd like to trade dud/mullens for a backup big... http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mb3pzch maybe even throw them a 2nd rounder just to get rid of them.

i want bullock to have more pt.

Like the deal,Magic may be hesitant on Dudley if they want develop Harris and Harkless at SF or if they want Wiggins or Parker. Doc may go a little insane as well and think he believes in Turk who has been productive. Comes down to does Doc see Davis as a C and can he play with Blake.

Not for trading Bullock unless its an amazing deal we need to build a young cheap core like OKC and Spurs. You can have only so many vet min guys. The Varejao deal would be epic put us in favorite contention because he is bigger body the Davis and a great scrapper. I doubt the Cavs unload him in a scrap deal but I would give up Dudley, Green, Jamison, 2nd and Mullens.

Yeah, looking at Dudley's contract I doubt its something the Magic want to take on, so the would probably want to add a 3rd team interested in Dudley.

Agree Varejao is a better option if the Cavs are willing, but I don't think they will, they still want to win so they are still buyers and that trade won't make them better.

didn't Lamar play most of the last season coked out and still played better than Hollins or Turiaf? more importantly, aren't you high right now, lewis? jokes aside, i don't care if Lamar is high, as long as he can get along with teammates, not be a distraction, and play the game well enough for what we need him to be.

Can't see the Cavs doing that.

Though I'd love Pachulia on our roster.

Most likely going to need the Rockets with Ronnie Brewer/Francisco Garcia going to the Bucks

Would be good to add a big and I think Zaza Pachulia would make the most sense, given that the Bucks are going nowhere, certainly wouldn't mind playing Henson even more minutes and with him still on the books for two more years.

Another guy could be Brandon Bass, though, the Celtics certainly would be asking for a pick/young player.

Broderick Turner, Los Angeles Times (2/18/14)

The Clippers are viewed as a team looking for frontcourt help. They are looking for either a starting small forward or a backup big man to play behind all-star power forward Blake Griffin and center DeAndre Jordan, according to NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.
...

“There are always a lot of phone calls,” Rivers said before Monday’s practice. “That’s what our jobs are, and everyone else’s job.

“We’re not out there looking for anything or to move anyone. But people are calling so you do listen.”
