While I know bleacher report isn't the most reliable site, it would appear that Pierre Jackson is available (Pelicans own his rights). Wonder if it's worth kicking the tires on him as a viable backup PG.

Thoughts?

Pierre (Zoom Zoom) Jackson is going to be entertaining for years no matter where he plays.

I promoted him a ton going into the draft. At one point he wasn't even listed in the 2nd round so I was hoping we just picked him up after the draft. But I don't see EG looking at a PJ. Just doesn't fit their MO

That's right. Per the tap, the Wiz are interested in Rodrigue Beaubois (4/5th PG we're after?)
Since Beaubois is coming-off an injury/surgery, Beaubois is a lock to become a Wizards.

More on P Zoom Zoom Jackson.

Edit. Opps. Just saw mohammed10 posted this.

I think we will get to see him in the NBA the 2nd half of the year. Should be fun to watch.

I would like to see hm go to Denver. That would be a good fit for him. They aren't good so he can get mins and they know how to run. Him and Faried would be fun.

As for Beaubois. He would be a nice addition. Fast energy scorer off the bench. Kind of Walls end to end game without the PG skills combined with some 3 ball shooting.

Can he defend. If so, man that would help Wall out when we play those fast little PGs. Small addition that would help a lot.

Here's a quote on Pierre from their GM:

" Q: How much thought has been given to calling up (NBA D-League leading scorer) Pierre Jackson?

A: "We made an agreement before the draft that if we drafted him he'd be one to go overseas for a year because of our (depth at guard) and next summer we would come back and re-evaluate if it was going to be a good fit or not.

"We did that for a number of reasons: one, because it is an overloaded position; and two, we do not have a draft pick this coming up year, so we are thinking of him as our draft pick for 2014.

"When he went overseas, things didn't work out and he ended up coming back, then he went to the D-League. He's playing exceptionally well. Obviously when a player is playing well he wants to expedite that process. But we are still not ready to do that.

"Obviously, we don't want to hold the kid back. We have been working with his representatives to try to find a win-win solution for everybody. For us, our original plan for him was to evaluate the situation next summer. Unless something drastic changes, we want to keep the same plan. But we are open if something else comes along that makes sense."
"

Basically it sounds like they are screwing him over because they don't want to admit their mistake on Rivers. He hasn't really said what they want in return but by the sound of above it'd be a 1st rounder of some sort. Sadly, I don't think we will get to see him in the NBA until next year, at the earliest.

I wonder what their asking price is? I still haven't given-up on Rivers, but it don't look good for him.

The New Orleans Pelicans could trade Austin Rivers before the trade deadline, according to a source.

Rivers could be involved in a deal with the rights of Pierre Jackson.

Rivers was the 10th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and is averaging 5.9 points this season.

Roll the freaking dice!

Not a fan of Austin Rivers, but I think he is a good risk if Jackson's rights are included.

The Wizards should make NOP pay for them to take Rivers. Either NOP has to give up a pick or they have to take Maynor. Rivers isn't close to being a useful NBA player.

So NOP are happy with a PG depth of Brian Roberts and Jrue Holiday....apparently. Rivers looks-like one of those players who is going to have to go overseas for 3-4 years, then try to re-enter the NBA.

Kid should have stayed in school another year or two.

...or 4

Rivers is downright putrid. That said, I would still rather have him than Maynor

Yeah the Knicks rumors other than the really small ones are insane.

I think the Nets deal Terry to end up with less salary this season. One guy who they might move as a bit of surprise would be Kirilenko.

I think the most likely bid deal would be the Celtics moving Rondo.

My favorite Knicks trade rumor is the one where they give up Shumpert and get Faried. Shumpert being a below average player; Faried being highly productive. If anyone traded Faried for Shumpert they should be required to sit on the TNT set during every broadcast wearing a dunce hat.

Don't tell Knicks fans that. They think Shumpert is the future!!!!!

Wow, that's pretty hilarious too. He must not be re-signing.

Maybe Deng to HOU, Lin to NY, and Shumpert+junk to CLE? :D

That may work, financially. But goodness, imagine a crowded Cleveland backcourt of checkers extraordinaire...Irving, Waiter and Shumpert!

Blake to the Warriors for a ham sandwich and a roll of quarters. Warriors might have added liquid detergent. Seriously...if that's all it takes, why are we not in these trade discussions and are bidding against the Nuggets for Beno Udrih instead?
