yea so what do you guys all think about Abreu lately? NYKnStill? Jitpal? do you still want to trade Abreu for Lowry and Sanchez?
Bobby has always been a slow starter but this year was bad. But the real Bobby Abreu is a huge cog in the Yankee lineup, since he has been getting on base Arod has seen some good pitches with runners on base.

I'd still deal him for Lowry and Sanchez. Lowry at the 5th spot in the location would be a huge upgrade over Clippard right now. Abreu is gone after this year, so we aren't losing much long term. Sanchez is a fireballing lefty to put in the pen and is big upgrade over any left hander we have and that is with his control issues that can be easily fixed in a couple of weeks with Nardi. If you look at multiple deals then you can slot Teixiera in there at the 3rd spot in the lineup. Only thing, is we don't have an outfielder for that spot. You could probably then deal Farnsworth to the Phillies for Shane Victorino. Farnsworth is replaced by Britton from the minors. I would totally do that, obvious, a few things would have to go right for it to work. It would be something I would look at. -Jitpal

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I believe Tex asked for a trade to either the Yankees or the Orioles. The Rangers just lost a lot of bargaining power for a deal. I'm sure Boras knows that the Yankees could give him the most money when his deal is up after next season and would want him. Boras would probably work to facilitate a deal here over the Orioles. It isn't all that straight up as you would like to think. As for Farnsworth for Victorino, Victorino isn't some all-star. He is what you said, energy outfielder. They were looking to deal Rowand for a bullpen arm and Rowand is better than Victorino. Maybe you have to deal a little more than just Farnsworth. Maybe Farnsworth and Villone or something, but it is something that could happen. -Jitpal

Yes Lowry and Sanchez could help us in the future but they are nothing special. Right now our offense is revolving around Bobby and Arod, the other guys get on base and these two bring them home. Yes we need a 1st baseman but Cairo is doing a great job! Right now our offense is starting to click. None of our major pieces are getting traded now that we are making a legitimate run. If we were like over 15 back by the deadline then you might see a deal like that happen.
