Seems to be a lot of interest in Rondo around the league with all the rumors flying around.

Does that mean Morey doesn't like the "Harden as PG" thing and want to make sure that it won't happen ever again?

I mean, trying to turn Rondo into a spot up shooter would be next to impossible!

im like 60/40 with rondo

positives
- top 3 pg when healthy
- walking triple double
- defense
- finds a way to score efficiently being 6'1 w/o a 3pt shot, mid range jumper, and bad ft% (makes them when they count tho)
- vocal, talks trash, barks at anyone who wants it. not "too nice" like most rockets are

negatives
- injury prone since 10-11
- a starter in the rockets system with no midrange jumpder AND NO 3PT SHOT!!!!! (how is that gonna work with dwight and harden clogging the paint? lol)
- does have an attitude problem
- is his new and imrpove shooting a fluke?

no one can contend when only two players who can space the floor in crunch time. cant always move a sf to pf in crunch time too(PARSONS IS NOT A POWER FORWARD!!!). i assume there's a stretch 4 somewhere in this.

rondo improving his shot. but since its a new part of his game, i dont wanna rely on that just yet. wait and see if he can do it for the rest of the season. he did come off his 4th straight injury prone season, doesnt help

I hear you. Im torn on the potential Rondo trade. I respect Rondo's game but I also recognize his weaknesses and his injury risk. If we were to move Parsons (our best 3pt shooter)for him, would we start Garcia or Casspi? We'd become the worst 3pt and ft shooting team in the league by far. And late in a tight game, the Rockets would only have one player(Harden) that could hit a ft. Think about having Jones, Howard, Rondo, and 1 of Casspi or Garcia all on the line in clutch moments. There would be no more hack a Howard. It would be hack a Houston. On the other hand Rondo would get our turnovers down.

Don't we win more games when we have high turnovers rather than low?
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Before the Rondo came back from his injury I would have called BS, but Rondo's jumper looks for real, which obviously makes him a considerably more complete player and much better fit... so I don't doubt that the Rockets are interested.

Really hope Parsons doesn't get traded though. Can't really see it the Rockets trading him, either. They probably just made him "available" to keep the Celtics interested. Like "Yeah, if the deal is right we would be open to trading Parsons..... [...] hey what about Lin, Asik, 2x 1sts + D-Mo for Rondo and fillers?". :)

I haven't really dug down into this to see what's what but it'd be better to look at the % of possessions that are TOs or something. Absolute TO numbers may just indicate a very fast paced game (i.e. a lot of transition buckets) that favors HOU.

read the deal is Lin/Asik/Parsons/1st round pick for Rondo/Green
if somehow Morey can exchange Green for Deng
then it would be a much better deal

it look like Morey isn't willing to deal Parsons

if a PG has no turnovers, he is not doing his job.

Celtics fan reading up on things from the other side.

I would not put too much into the injury thing with Rondo. The knee is what it is but the only other real injury he had that hurt the team was when he messed up his arm against the Heat in the playoffs. He has missed 10 games or so here and there especially early in the season but Doc would also just sit guys for a game to keep the wear and tear down.

Rondo will not make your TO's go down hell no. Your assists to turnovers might improve but Rondo likes to pass the ball and sometimes to the other team.

He is a special player and a game changer, he is not soft and he may be a little too real for Dwight. He is like a little KG that way.

The jumper is better but lets face it the guy isn't shooter or scorer.

Hard to see Boston moving him without getting a guy they can really hang their hat on and I don't see that in this trade. Parsons is nice but the draft picks look like they would be too low. But certainly better than the crap the Knicks are offering.

Certainly will be interesting.

This cyberx dude has been pretty impressive with his calls I wonder if that could be Morey goofing around on CF lol. I don't know what to think of this potential trade as the team dynamics would be totally revamped, it hurts my head just thinking about it. I figure this would be Morey's way of forcing Harden into playing a true SG role rather than try to be Mr. Everything.

My guess is that they're trying to deal Lin/Asik + fillers for Rondo + fillers but Boston is insisting on Parsons as they want to bring back the image of the 80's Celts, Parsons/Olynk could be the new Bird/McHale? :)

Rondo/Harden/Green/PF/Dwight... not bad.

Wow, could be one that works out for both teams in terms of bolstering their starting lineups but I think Houston would be giving up a bit too much especially with the 1st rounder.

Definitely would be a good deal for Boston as they're leveraging off the fact that Houston wants to get rid of Asik and Lin's contracts but I don't see Morey being quite this desperate though. Giving up Parsons is a huge deal already, piling on with the 1st rounder is unnecessary imo lol.

I missed the post but good point. Rondo + Green is not enough for that huge lot.

It isnt often that a team can have a big 3 fall on their laps at the deadline. U guys should totally do this.
