A striker from one of the London teams has 8 goals and 3 assists in 11 matches this season.
and he surely would've fit right in today

This is wrong.

I only had one eye on the game, but both PKs seemed legit and same with the red card.. was he really that bad?
edit i just read your previous post. I agree with the red card decision because I think it was a goal scoring opportunity denied?
but I feel your pain, Arsenal and City both got very unlucky with the way these games played out

This is wrong. Ozil is a better 10 than Kroos, neither are suited to play on the wing. But what's most wrong is the thinking that it's either or. We need to utilize both to get the most out of this squad. Kroos in a midfield triangle, either pep's inverted triangle, or at the tip of a traditional slant, and Ozil operating in front of him as the false 9. But we should utilize both, Kroos is just such a great shooter and so great at moving around to maintain possession and force teams to defend open spaces.

It's a dumb rule, but it's a dumb rule that's been in place since before szcez started playing professionally. *shrug*

I like how you phrase it as if their is only one option and it is either right or wrong.

ok. So why did boateng not get a second yellow for hurting gibbs and a cynical foul to stop a threatening counter attack? Big decisions went one way and it clearly decided the game.

cgf wrote:When one player is clearly superior at the ten to the other there is a clear right and wrong. And I love toni kroos, he's last DDR born star who's basically the world class version of Torsten Mattuschka, my eiserne's captain and talisman. But he's just not Mesut as a ten, he's a better 8, he's a better goal scorer and he's a better defender, but he's just not as good of a 10, which is why Jogi needs to stick to the 4-3-3-0 with Toni and Mesut both playing "through the middle"
Reus - Ozil - Mueller
Kroos - Schweini/Ilkay/Goetze
Lahm
Grosskreutz - Hummels - Boateng - Lars Bender
That's a team that wins the WC and actually can play to its potential.

It is as clearly right and wrong as clearly you can predict which team wins the WC

One of the most overrated players in the world.

cgf wrote:No it's much clearly than that. I just know we won't win because of Jogi, who will is still puzzle. Who's the better 10 between Ozil and Kroos is not, even after this game where Kroos looked great with the best team in the world around him facing 10 men while Ozil struggled out on the wing with an inferior team and having to defend for an entire half. I love the kid, but his touch in tight areas is levels below Ozil's and while he's a great retention passer and long ball guy, like Schweini, he's not even comparable to mesut at playing killer balls in tight areas. Which isn't to say he's bad at it or that combined with his shoot he isn't also tremendously effective on a team that play slowly and dominate possession, just that Mesut is the world's best #10, and Toni isn't, regardless of how badly you or I wish that he was.
