Wow, could be one that works out for both teams in terms of bolstering their starting lineups but I think Houston would be giving up a bit too much especially with the 1st rounder.
Definitely would be a good deal for Boston as they're leveraging off the fact that Houston wants to get rid of Asik and Lin's contracts but I don't see Morey being quite this desperate though. Giving up Parsons is a huge deal already, piling on with the 1st rounder is unnecessary imo lol.
lol i posted this earlier and it was at the bottom of page 2
it would be better if it's deng instead of green
I missed the post but good point. Rondo + Green is not enough for that huge lot.
If you really think about it though it really comes down to Parsons for Rondo in the long-run. I think any trade where you basically trade two heavy rotation players (Parsons and Lin) mid-season it's going to hurt the team in the short-run, but in the long-run Asik and Lin aren't in the Rockets plans, so using them to get value whenever you can get it is good.
The real asset is Parsons, who can be had for the rest of this year and next year on the cheap, or the value of declining the player-option to take advantage of his then RFA status. On the other side of the equation Rondo is the big piece and is IMO absolutely a game changer if healthy, however I haven't really been watching him since he came back from injury this season so I'm mostly going off what he's done in the past. The dude was basically elite at everything but shooting.
And then if Green is included he would be the filler at SF for Parsons but I'm not a fan of his contract, who has 2 years remaining plus a player-option (which he will likely opt-in for) for a 3rd year for ~9M a year. Bleh.
I dunno... not sure how I feel about this trade. If it does go through I don't see us having any chance getting past the 2nd round in the playoffs.
