Just noticed something about last nights game. A lot of applauding Monroe and dissing Jennings for their FG% by posters who normally value TS% greater than FG%, yet last night Jennings actually had the higher TS%...His was 55% and Monroes only 51%. So what gives?
And all the talk about how many FGAs Jefferson needed to get his 32 pts, but how is Monroe needing 16 FGAs to get 18 pts anything to be proud of in terms of efficiency?
Meanwhile Jennings only needed 18 FGAs to get his 24 pts yet has gotten more flack than both.
If you ask me, Jennings probably was the least impactful of the 3 watching the game live, so I understand those criticizing him the most of the 3, but that's exactly why I don't put much stock in FG% or TS%.

I didn't really see the applauding of Monroe. I think that people said that Monroe had a comparable game to Jefferson from an efficiency standpoint.
It was the claim that Jefferson had some sort of all-world game that people had a problem with.
And just so I get this straight: You are saying that the reason **you** don't put stock in FG% or TS% is because some people (including yourself) on this board gave Jennings flack about his game last night?
I really don't see the logical connection between the two.

I'm still bouncing this around in my head. Is it that you personally think Jennings had the worst game but his TS% is better the reason that you don't believe in TS%?
I think that Jennings was helped a lot by sinking his free throws. It might be a little deceptive from an impression standpoint as you never watch a game and go: "Wow, look at that free throw shooting!". But from a game impact standpoint it is just as important as sinking field goals.
So my guess is that you saw all of the missed field goals and think "Man, Jennings is having a subpar night". But he did enough at the line to offset it. Very Jerry Stackhouse-esque.

Jennings should probably be a back-up point guard on another team.
