At the very least need to take on Jack's salary from them as well I'd think. I'm also pretty sure Deng can't be traded along with another player so it'd be two separate deals looking something like this:

Barg for Deng
and
Shumpert, MWP, Kenyon, Cole, Udrih any other minimum **** we have left for Jack

Where do I sign?

Why are we not in the mix for Neal? His contract expires in '15 is a great shooter and can even carry you some games. They don't want him in MIL since herbing Sanders.

Small smart moves mean just as much as one big move

Trade 1 aint happening, Bargs is albatross, waiters is still viewed highly by the cavs.

LOL at lowry

Second one has legs if its THjr instead of fatboy, but HOU might be problem.

Just out of curiousity which Parker are you talking about?

Knicks get - Jeff Teague & Eric Gordon

Pelicans get - Tyson Chandler & Raymond Felton

Hawks get - Iman Shumpert, G. Steimsma & trade exception from Thunder

Thunder get - JR Smith & Beno Udrih

Would still have money to sign Kevin Love in 2015 with Melo taking less than max.
2015 line-up could look like:

Jeff Teague
Eric Gordon/Tim Hardaway Jr.
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Love
Jeremy Tyler

+ MLE & 2015 draft pick.

Honestly speaking it is looking like we have a very slim chance of making any deal happen this season, our "major" trade chip in Shump is hurt. Bargs is hurt.

Who else do we have to trade who could net us something or someone that is an upgrade? Chandler?

Really that would be about it and I am not hearing of a lot of teams knocking on Steve Mills door trying to pick up chandler who appears to have his best years behind him at this point.

Other than a minor deal for someone like Beno, I do not see anything happening and in a year when we are clearly in desperate need of change that is depressing as hell. More depressing yet because a coaching change does not appear to be in our future.

It seems like just yesterday Jason Kidd hit the "leg-kicking" game winner vs. the Brooklyn Nets. Raymond Felton's excellent first-round series vs. Boston seems like a distant memory however. The Knicks, our Knicks, simply have not found any rhythm or winning spirit all season long.

Today marked the day we would shake up our roster...why? Not because we've underachieved more than any other team this season, but because it was the trading deadline. Why didn't we attempt to move Shump/Felton during the Texas road trip, when both played well, sparingly. Instead we waiting for the two days before the deadline to look for moves.

3PM hits today and we land nobody. Our backcourt is seemingly non-existent. But thats okay. When Iman Shumpert joined the NBA from Georgia Tech, he was seldom known. However, he made his name in his very first professional action, as a ball hounding stopper. When I first saw Iman play, I automatically compared him to another young two-way player, Paul George. I thought the two would grow to be very similar players. Nobody expected Paul George to improve his offensive game so much over the past two off-seasons.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Knicks Iman Shumpert has seemingly lost all his offensive confidence. So lets sell low on one of our two only assets! No. Stand Pat. Sucks we couldn't move Felton, but he's another player that can easily start to play better and bring his value up by the time the off-season rolls around. This off-season we will have legit NBA type assets. Three massive one year deals, two young wing players (Shump, THJr.), J.R. Smith, and Raymond Felton.

Come this time next season, we will have our chance to set ourselves up for the biggest summer of free agency in Knicks history. BTW, this is all assuming Melo resigns this off-season, because I am positive he will. Anyway, we will have ways to create deals that land us either talent, picks, or cap relief. By putting one of our expiring deals with Ray or J.R., hopefully we can rebuild from there the right way. Either way, next time NBA teams can officially trade again, our Knicks will have 3 contracts worth over 40 million dollars in expiring deals.

Just some trade ideas for this time next season:

A) Huntin Wolves :

Knicks trade Amare,Felton, J.R. Smith
Knicks receive: Love (who resigns), Rubio

B) Ragin Rajon

Knicks trade Bargnani, Felton
Knicks receive Rondo

Either of those two stars can force their way to the Knicks, along with any other stars in the league...and because of those huge expiring deals we have, the assets are there to acquire star talent....

of course any deal must be signed off by Carmelo Kyam Anthony.

I like the optimism but no way those trades happen.

One other thought about finding smart trades, like many that Rasho proposed (credit given) -- such as saving the Thunder tax and getting back a prospect like Adams.

It's a good idea.

But it has a fundamental flaw: Trades are 2-way conversations. If the Thunder could spot a move they'd definitely make, like the ones Rasho proposed, then they'd call up the Knicks and offer it.

He and others are so busy trying to pin blame on the Knicks that they forget that the other team in the proposed trade could also pick up the phone. And if they don't, then it's probably not something they're very interested in. Or they're at least missing this brilliant move as much as Steve McKinsey Mills is -- so it's not as big a miss as being advertised.

Suffice to say, if the OKC really do view Tyson as a missing piece and would give up Adams for him, that fact will be presented to the Knicks by somebody ... even if they wouldn't initiate it themselves because they're so asleep at the switch allegedly.

Let's be honest... there's no way this team would have even considered Tyson for Perkins and Adams. They are all about trying to go on a playoff run and if we fail they'll still try to spin us as a contender next year.

I don't think we can even speculate what trades should or should not be made until Melo tells the Knicks what hes planning to do and what he wants if he were to stay (immediate help vs 2015 plan)

I don't know where to post this but I can't fathom how we are going to go into Melo's free agency with only MIke D'Antoni and Mike Woodson being his only coaches here. I'm at the point of rooting for winning the lottery this year, while Brooklyn goes onto win the Championship, and then Melo walks away, Just so I could look at Dolan's face.

Knicks not making a move at the deadline suggests Carmelo has been made aware of the situation. Knicks would have gotten bounced in the first round anyway. The Knicks will get better deals this summer.

Sports Illustrated article on Rajon Rondo, http://si.com/vault/article/magazine/MA ... /index.htm

Based on that article if Rajon wants to be in NY he will get there.
