Trade Idea's
I know we're not exactly a team known for wheeling and dealing but if you got any trade ideas that you think might help put us over the top post em' here.

Re: Trade Idea's
YES! A trade thread!
Well, here is a crazy idea. And don't yell at me, because I hate him too....
But if you could guarantee me he wouldn't act like an ass and take direction from Pop for 6 months, I think Metta World Peace would help us a ton behind K. Leonard. He's cheap and is not happy with his playing time in NY. Don't know what they would want in return but they are the Knicks so probably too much.
Again, don't yell at me because I hate the freaking guy, but he is cheap and when he is healthy he does fit what we need. Also I think our locker room is strong enough to keep him in check.
Actually its a terrible idea, but what a way to start the trade thread.

Are we talking realistic trades, trades that are rumored, or just any trades?
Bonner for Anthony Davis.

Honestly, I don't know if any of ours players that are currently expendable (not in the main rotation) have enough value to bring in guys that can be key contributors. I think most people will agree that guys like Nando or Cory Joseph or Jeff Ayres look better in our team because of the system that's in place. Put them on other teams, they're worse.
I mean, Cory Joseph is basically what? A Jacque Vaughn clone? Jeff Ayres is an athletic 6'9 PF with limited finishing skills other than the occasional wide open dunks, have bad hands, and can't shoot. There's not much value to these guys IMO.
And if we're talking about trading guys such as Marco, Danny, Diaw, Splitter, that'll change the team's make up too much.
For me, I think we should stay put. The only players I don't mind getting traded is De Colo, Ayres, Baynes, Cory Joseph, and Matt Bonner. As we start getting to the playoffs and the big 3 minutes are extended, the need for depth gets smaller.
The one area that I think need help is at the SF/PF department. Preferably someone who can play both of that position. Hopefully someone who can play defense and provide shotblocking and some size.
Andrei Kirilenko.

Re: Trade Idea's
Sixers fan here, what would you guys say about this?
Sixers receive: Matt Bonner, Jeff Ayres, 2014 1st top 20 protected, Livio Jean-Charles
Spurs receive: Spencer Hawes
Spurs don't really lose anything right now, replace Bonner with the more capable Spencer Hawes. Hawes would be an awesome backup, shoots 41 % from 3, is waaaayyy better than Bonner in every other area. Would help with the title run this year and is also an expiring which provides flexibility.
Sixers get a pick, a decent european prospect and 2 veterans that won't win us games.

Re: Trade Idea's
Most of you guys are right. The organization is not going to mess with the chemistry of this team this year. Realistically the only players on this team that could get moved would be Bonner, Joseph, Ayers, De Colo and Baynes. (unless someone allows us to fleece them and offers us something crazy in return).
The only player's on that list with even a hint of value are Joseph and De Colo and I doubt we would get squat for either. The only thing I could possibly see is us taking someone's expiring contract as a rental if someone was interested in one of our prospects or draft asset.

That would make it kind of a useless trade for us though. Is there anything else that the Spurs might be willing to give up? Maybe some other euro? 2nd rounders?

I think Trevor Ariza would be a great fit. What would you be willing to give up?

Ariza is a good player, but you should try to "sell" him to a team that needs a starting material SF.
We see him as a backup rental. A guy that would be a decent starter while Leonard is out, but that would be a backup 3 and a small-ball 4 once Kawhi gets back.
Not sure if SAS is FO is willing to give up a 1st for Ariza's rental, but the trade would most likely be around Bonner's expiring + one of the backup PGs (probably Nando de Colo).
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Re: Trade Idea's
How do you guys feel about Jason Thompson? I feel like he's another guy we could get on the cheap, maybe something like Bonner + Cojo + a 2nd or two?

Re: Trade Idea's
I'd be down for the Jason Thompson trade. The environment he is in right now is garbage, they may even through in Jimmer if asked nicely, haha! Spencer Hawes seems like someone Pop would want, but what we really need is that 3/4 tweener like Danny Granger. Though I think Indiana wouldn't trade with us again as we are one of a hand full of teams that could meet them on the road to a championship and Danny Granger is making way more money then we can match in a trade. Not enough depth behind Kawhi right now though.

Re: Trade Idea's
I think SAC is definitely a good partner, but I would prefer Derrick Williams instead of Thompson.
Why?
1 - He is the kind of 3/4 tweener that we're looking for. Someone that could play the 3 as Leonard's backup and someone that we could develop into a stretch 4 once Matt is gone.
2 - He is cheaper, younger, more talented and has a higher ceiling.
JT is more of a 4/5 that does the dirty work and rebounds, but he is a 7 footer that doesn't block-shots (something that we already have with Splitter/Baynes) and a low BBIQ player with a long-term contract.
Considering that SAC has already 67m committed (assuming Gay opts in) and they probably wanna IT back, they could easily trade one of those forwards (Landry, JT or Williams) for basically nothing or very little.

Re: Trade Idea's
I want James Johnson on this team. Too bad his trade value is the highest it's been in a couple of years.
I would welcome any of the players that are currently wasting their careers on the Sixers: Turner, Thad Young, Hawes.

Remember Jimmer Fredette? Surely he could he had for cheap, and the change of scene might be what he needs to give his NBA career a jump start.

James Johnson, Derrick Williams, maybe even Anthony Randolph, any one that tweens the 3/4. James Johnson is the most expensive. The other two know what a bench feels like.

I was always a fan of Jimmer. Sucks that he was banished to that franchise. I wouldn't mind him here but
A)we need a SF more right now
B)not sure about his defense. Pop probably wouldn't let him off the bench.

Re: Trade Idea's
I would LOVE to get Noah in here. That guy will definitely win a title someday.
Noah for Splitter and DeColo works in the trade checker
Although if I was Chicago I wouldn't make that deal. Maybe if we threw in Jean-Charles rights?
I wonder what it would take to get Danny Granger? He is a shell of his former self but could fit nicely as Leonard's backup. And his huge contract is done.
