I think Cavs' fans tend to forget how badly we were abused by opposing teams' small forwards before the trade. Deng's offense has been okay but his defense has still been solid.' I wouldn't back up the brink truck this summer but I'm happy to see what we can do this year with him.

Plus we have a winning record with Deng on the team.

Im going to bed. I hit 30 recently and feel far too old to stay up all night for these crazy trade deadlines anymore. Work is going to come early in the morning, and I really dont want to be a zombie all day. Plus I know if something is about to happen that I'll get a few texts to give me a heads up. Depending on how big the deal is, I may or may not actually wake up for them...

Important to note:
The Deng trade broke at like 1:30 am.
The Bynum signing was leaked a little after midnight.

So, it's not out of the realm of possibility that something happens tonight, especially since we seem to be talking to a lot of West Coast teams and it's only a little after 9 there, but Im going to bed. Talk to you guys in the morning.... or in the middle of the night if something big happens. :)

Official trade: Cavs acquire Spencer Hawes from Philly for two 2nd round picks. Awaiting word on filler contract (Earl Clark?).

Did you hear the part about Earl (-10 per 100 possessions) Clark leaving? I'm no Hawes fan but I'd rather have him on my roster than Clark for the next 60 days.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

No reason to give picks to dump an expiring. Also I liked our 3 big rotation, now someone will lose minutes...

I'm with fart here. Zeller was starting to give good minutes too and I don't want to resign hawes so a bit of a waste.

Looks like it's now confirmed. Earl Clark and Henry Sims are the filler.

The picks are the Memphis and Orlando 2nds from this year.

I think its very safe to assume that those talks would have involved more than just Bullock coming back.

I think Hawes will help TT out. Worst comes to worst, we lost two 2nds that we were going to trade anyways, and Mike Brown can't play Clark.

Jack/Deng still cavs and we gave up two picks for a player that we have no intention of resigning (I hope). Terrible.

Agreed.

Also I gotta say **** Varejao. I love him but three years running gets injured before the deadline like clockwork.

So turner didn't bring back much of a return. All those turner for waiters deals look even worse now.
