Clippers and Knicks are talking about a Shumpert/Felton for Collison/Bullock deal, according to the wiretap.

Not sure how that helps, as the Clips need a big and would downgrade at the pg spot.

f*ck outta here, we'd be acquiring the 2 worst players on that deal, no way we move reggie for shumpert I hope, much less if we have to downgrade our PG too :x

Deal keeps changing but god I hope Doc does not screw us with that orginal deal. We take on abigger contract for longer and worse player in Felton AND have to give up a prospect also!

Yeah, Reggie is like the younger, taller, better shooting and better character version of Shumpert, and he's got 2 more years left on his rookie deal.

But, thinking about it, that trade doesn't work under the CBA, we are hard capped and can only add $1.91 million in salary according to Larry Coon. With that deal we'd be adding $2.3 million.

Clips still have a TPE from that Bledsoe trade which could be used.
It would then be two seperate deals. First Collison, Bullock for Felton, then TPE for Shumpert.

Though, not sure what it does for the Clips, given that they need frontcourt help and not yet another wing.

Apparently, even using the Bledsoe exception, the salary we add would count against the cap, and we can't have a payroll over the apron ($4 million over the tax). We are $2.09 million over the tax already, so the most we can add is $1.91 million, wether we use the TPE or not. I'm saying it because Larry Coon just did an article on that.

Stein is saying on twitter that the Shumpert deal is there for us if we take on Felton (without adding Reggie), but I think we'd have to add Willie Green and one of Mullens/Jamison for that to work under the CBA.

Then we better say "no". The Knicks are the ones pushing hard to deal Shumpert and are desperate for a point guard. Ain't no way is it worth it to take on Felton's contract. I actually want us to include Dudley and Mullens in the deal so that we can somehow snag Jordan Hill in a multi-team trade.

Who did Cleveland want?

Post#731 » by Ranma » Thu Feb 20, 2014 1:34 am

With the Cavs' pursuit of Harrison Barnes, a close friend of Kyrie Irving's, I'm curious if the Cavaliers wanted a small forward for Tyler Zeller.

I wonder what they were asking for if talks went nowhere. Zeller seems decent in comparison to the current bigs

We have no use for Turner, even if we could have him for free. He's a ball dominant SF, and we already have 3 players with a usage of over 25%, we need a big and and a wing, but they have to be role players that can defend well and play off the ball.

Spencer Hawes won't be available, as he's been traded to the Cavs.

Though, the Cavs are said to have offered Tyler Zeller to the Clippers.

Dan Woike @DanWoikeSports now
Pretty much everyone calling the Clippers is asking for Reggie Bullock. Clippers really like him, though.

wonder what different offers we have gotten. has to be at least a couple decent ones if we are getting a bunch of calls

If the team really likes him and other teams are asking for him, then he should be getting more playing time over the likes of the struggling Dudley and Barnes at the very least for the sake of his development, especially since he can't possibly do worse than either of those two.
