AB out...again. Traded for Hamilton.

Post#1 » by Ribalding » Thu Feb 20, 2014 7:02 pm

I've had Woj's Twitter feed up all day, figuring Morey would stay true to form and make a move.

Fear not, lovers of AB. I'm sure he'll be back.

Anybody have more than passing familiarity with Jordan Hamilton's game?

he was the go to guy in college (watched few UT games)
but his role in NBA totally changed
last time i remember we played Denver
Parsons totally dominate over him so i don't think he's good

hmmm, wtf I don't get it. I won't doubt Morey tho, I assuming this guy is a strong defender.
Really gonna miss Brooks, now he joins his nemesis from HS Nate Robinson.

Comeback soon Mr. Rocket

Darn, AB was always a more than adequate replacement for Lin/Bev, he will be missed. This guy has always been a great team player, a true professional; feel bad for him. So with this move, looks like Lin is staying put, still an hour to decide on Asik's fate but I think he'll end up staying as well.

I don't know too much about Hamilton but if he can produce on both ends, this could be a good move seeing that he'd take away Garcia's minutes, someone who hasn't been playing up to par this year.

Nothing against Hamilton, but this is a depressing trade for me. Long Live Mr. Rocket!!!

I'm gonna miss ab so much. Guess the guys upstairs trust Canaan as our 3rd pg

BUT hopefully this move will let parsons and harden get more rest

I loved Hamilton at UT. Hope he comes and kills it as a backup 2/3

Second unit is now Lin/Hamilton/Garcia/motie/Asik? Not too shabby

I thought Brooks had a no trade clause? Did he ask for a trade?

From what I'm reading, his clause was that he could have vetoed any trade but he changed his mind I guess. A true professional.

Hope to see him get more minutes in Denver, best of luck to Aaron Brooks!

Or more likely he knows he's going to be waived by DEN and he can re-sign with HOU (after the waiting period).

edit: oh n/m looks like AB is quoted as basically approving the trade because he wanted more PT. Hopefully Bev or Lin don't get injured... Canaan still needs a little bit more seasoning in the D-League

Weird though since AB could've just signed wherever for the minimum if all he wanted was PT. Thought he wanted to finish his career out here.

I don't think Brooks' career is done. If he can prove he can still score, he'll get paid. There's no sense not taking a chance for a million or 2 more a year while living out in Denver and a few months. Denver's got a very short point guard rotation right now, as Nate Robinson is out for the year.

Still, sucks to see him go. Best of luck to him.

I didn't mean it in that way, I meant that Brooks signed here for the minimum because he specifically wanted to live here. He could've easily signed elsewhere if his focus was on PT.

If you follow Jonathan Feigen on twitter then you'll know why Brooks agreed to the trade.

Feigen twitted these:
"Brooks said accepted trade because he is in the last year of his deal and needs to play. Conversations with Brian Shaw, Jared Jeffries key."

"ABrooks: "It was a tough situation. They're playing great, great, great right now. I wanted to be a part of it. Houston is in my heart.""

"Aaron Brooks said it 'a tough decision" to approve the trade. "Just the opportunity to play, that was the main factor.""

Good luck AB!!!

So it seems like the Nuggets are desperate for a PG: Miller is traded, Nate out for season and Lawson has a fractured rib. So AB will be the starter immediately! Then he will be the only backup PG after Lawson returns.

It is sad to see him on the bench with no PT anyways, let's hope Canaan is ready!

If they are so desperate for a PG, I'd guess that Hamilton isn't all that bad. His numbers aren't spectacular but he might be a contributor since he started some games and scored 16 two games ago. Seems like a fast break/spot up kinda guy. Unfortunately his defense was a big concern out of college, has he improved dramatically?

Thanks for the honesty.
