Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA · 2m
Orlando is working on a contract buyout with forward Glen Davis, league source tells Yahoo Sports

=========

I'll add him as # 3 - he can shot the mid range jumper and he's strong, can handle West on defense.

1)Jordan Hill
2)Kris Humphries
3)Glen Davis
4)Chris Kaman
5)Caron Butler
6)Danny Granger
7)Ben Gordon
8)Okafor (still injured)
9) Charlie Villanueva

No way we get him.

I think someone overpays just to keep him away from us. I'd love big baby here. He'd be like Haslem was back during Shaq era with the sick midrange and defense. 8-)

He is a good player but over paid and tainted by Kim kardashian

But he really is a decent player and definitely a good rebounder. He is a hustle type player, he would help

RexBoyWonder wrote:Best option for buyout, from best to worst (some are more likely to get bought out then others) :

1)Jordan Hill - Elite rebounder, decent on offense, defense is suspect. but overall fits our needs. Lakers are loaded with cash so unlikely they buy him out, but maybe if they're trying to tank for Wiggins.

2)Kris Humphries - Decent real POWER forward to deal with David west, very good rebounder.

3)Chris Kaman - Doesn't play defense, but at least he's big, can score some and rebound some. Could he be decent on defense if he gets motivated by playing on a contender?

4)Caron Butler - Almost done as a player, but might be able to squeeze out another last good playoffs run. Showed signs of life lately.

5)Danny Granger - Still isn't back to his old form, looked bad this year. Could he get it together in time for the playoffs? used to be a good 3 point shooter before he got hurt.

6)Ben Gordon - Same as Granger, just didn't get hurt. just lost his motivation on Bobcats.

7)Okafor - Unless he's been secretly training by himself, it's getting too late to come back this year. Real shame, if healthy could have been the best option for us.

Anyone else I missed?
Kris Humphries?

I **** wish.

Glen Davis?

I also **** wish.

^ If any of these names truly gets bought out, we're the only team that can still offer the miniMLE, that should work in our favor. Also we're the Heat from Miami, that won't hurt.

The competition for their services will be mainly the Clippers and the Rockets.

I doubt Okafur will be much help with that herniated disc of his. We'll see.

I definitely would be in favor of jumping on the Caron bandwagon if he gets bought out like many are speculating he is.

Big Baby is another compelling option. Another big body down low for us to play D and grab boards.

Definitely worth cutting Mason and Douglas IMO (well Mason has already been traded).

Those two are definitely at the top of my list.

Magic just agreed on the buyout of Davis...Clippers moving in fast and not sure Pat will get into it straight away?

I sure hope he does though would be a great pickup.

Big Baby is interesting...

Lol, if Granger has any resentment towards IND maybe he'll come here. He's been awful though.

I think he will have. He was looking like a 1-team player for a while there - he was the future of Indiana. Then injuries and PG happened, and he got cast aside. He's probably nowhere near as motivated over the last couple of years, and really in cruise control. Then BAM! He gets dumped in Philly & offered a buy-out. I think he'll be pissed & ready for revenge.

Remember the new CBA closed the loophole where a team could trade an expiring to someone who would buy them out, then resign with their original team 30 days later. Now they have to wait until the next season. So this can't have been a "we're trading you, but only for 30 days" thing.

The issue is that we can only get 1 bought-out player, without dropping someone else. Who would be next? Who should be next? If we can get 1 of Big Baby/Hill/Hump and 1 of Butler/Granger who do we cut?

Pacers couldn't re-sign both Stephenson and Granger anyways so it's really no different.

Though, Turner is a RFA so if Stephenson walks, Pacers can re-sign Turner.

Why do you say that?

Even if he were upset with the front office, his friends/teammates had nothing to do with it. Why would he want to beat his friends? Granger used to work out with Paul George while he was at Fresno State. I'd bet on Granger not joining a rival team at the expense of his friends. I could see him joining basically any other contender though. Pacers players have worked out with Spurs players the past few seasons. Spurs would be a quality destination. If I had to guess on where he goes, I'd guess Spurs, Suns, Rockets, Clippers, Thunder or Knicks. That's purely guessing though. He's from California and played for New Mexico. Going out West makes the most sense.

Because I'd say he'd want to prove to the front office that they made a huge mistake by just turfing him out. Whether or not it's with us is another matter but I think he'd want to make sure he beat Indy if he was matched up to them.
