Buyout Options

Post#1 » by HeatDaChamps » Fri Feb 21, 2014 12:34 am

I think we overused the trade deadline thread, lets look at our options for buyouts period.

A lot of names are being rumored to be bought out that i didnt expect.

List:

Caron
Kaman
Big Baby (im hearing now)
Granger (possibly)
I saw someone post Jordan Hill??? Not sure if thats true. Lets keep adding. We gotta dominate the buyout market. Pacers made a power move today.

Glen Davis would be huge.

I don't know if the mods will keep this thread open. Don't get upset if it's locked up lols.

Good idea, ill just copy paste this here :

Best option for buyout, from best to worst (some are more likely to get bought out then others) :

1)Jordan Hill - Elite rebounder, decent on offense, defense is suspect. but overall fits our needs. Lakers are loaded with cash so unlikely they buy him out, but maybe if they're trying to tank for Wiggins.

2)Kris Humphries - Decent real POWER forward to deal with David west, very good rebounder.

3)Glen Davis - Can heat the mid range jumper, strong guy that can handle West on defense.

4)Chris Kaman - Doesn't play defense, but at least he's big, can score some and rebound some. Could he be decent on defense if he gets motivated by playing on a contender?

5)Caron Butler - Almost done as a player, but might be able to squeeze out another last good playoffs run. Showed signs of life lately.

6)Danny Granger - Still isn't back to his old form, looked bad this year. Could he get it together in time for the playoffs? used to be a good 3 point shooter before he got hurt.

7)Ben Gordon - Same as Granger, just didn't get hurt. just lost his motivation on Bobcats.

8)Okafor - Unless he's been secretly training by himself, it's getting too late to come back this year. Real shame, if healthy could have been the best option for us.

9)Charlie Villanueva - No reason really.

================================

If any of these names truly gets bought out, we're the only team that can still offer the miniMLE, that should work in our favor. Also we're the Heat from Miami, that won't hurt.

The competition for their services will be mainly the Clippers and the Rockets

The lakers were desperately trying to unload Jordan Hill at the deadline to save luxury tax money. Would they buy him out? I think the real question is, will Jordan Hill be willing to lose some money to play on a contender?

I think Glen Davis is going to go to the Clippers actually if he's bought out.

That's not a comforting thought.

I'd rather have Granger, someone to mess with West or Gordon (for wade when he sits). Honestly on all the games I watched against Indy, West is a much better performer againts us than Hibbert so definitely this should be a top choice.

Yeah I didn't read your post in the other thread until after I quoted you.

But wow. We really have a strong hand in signing a buyout. Wonder who we get...

Highly unlikely Humphries gets bought out, but it would be an amazing pick up for Miami.

One can pray. He would play the role we had envisioned Haslem would.

He'd go right to # 9, straight ahead of Villanueva.

This isn't two years ago where Danny was a good defender though. West will abuse him, PG will abuse him and Scola will abuse him. He's too hurt to be a good defender right now. I'd rather have Big Baby guard West..and vice versa to wear his ass out.

Who the hell is Gordon? You mean PG?

Ben Gordon former bull now on bobcats.

I liked his game before when he was in the bulls. Hopefully he can still shoot that way.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA · 7m
Clippers are a strong frontrunner for Glen Davis should buyout get completed, league sources tell Yahoo

Well, maybe there's some factors we don't know about :|. Or it can be BS rumor.
