Its very possible he was already told he will not be retained along with Cheeks last week, but they agreed to keep it private out of respect to Joe's image and future job prospects.

It would explain why Joe hasn't spoken to the media since then.

Teams a mess, I cant stand Dumars but Im not liking Gores either now. Im hoping he will just stay out of the way of the new GM because he doesnt know what hes doing anymore than Dumars does.

Yikes. You either fire him or let him make trades or move him to another position in the organization until his contract expires. This is no way to run the team during the trade deadline.

Tom Gores plan = selling the team

At this point we should be worried that investors in Seattle dont offer Gores an ungodly sum of money for the team because he could easily sell the team then sell the Palace and DTE for a hefty sum to another buyer.

Silver wants a team back in Seattle and short of the Bucks owner dying we are the top candidate for relocation if Gores decides to sell

this is ridiculous there's no chance the NBA would allow the Pistons to leave Detroit. u guys need to stop thinking and saying dumb sh^t like this.

Exactly. ..this.

Who has the right to tell Gores what to do?

If Gores chooses to sell the team to the highest bidder why cant he sell it to the investment group from Seattle?

Seattle was a storied NBA franchise, with 1 championship and multiple finals appearances not to mention a very dedicated fan base and they were moved to OKC along with their championship history and all their stats and banners.

Im not saying it's going to happen but if Gores sells and our team has been an embarrassment for the past 6 years who says they cant be moved?

All they need is a decent bidder. He also owns the palace. I'm not worried about a move.

If he tried to pull something like that, fans would be absolutely furious. How could anyone show their face here in MI knowing that they betrayed the place they grew up in.

Personally, I don't believe ANY franchise with a storied history should be moved.

Love the article by Drew Sharp in the Free Press

http://www.freep.com/article/20140221/C ... tons-trade

The Pistons’ apparent strategy at the deadline was: “Why bother?”

If they’re not careful, Drummond might feel the same way.
