Less than 30 games to go. A relatively difficult schedule ahead of this team with many western conference opponents. What is your prediction of how the Joe Dumars era ends in Detroit?

Villanueva goes for 40 in our last game, vaulting us into 9th place and giving our pick to Charlotte.

Gores goes on a 2 week vacation to Maui and leaves Dumars in charge.

Dumars give Stuckey and Villanueva new 5 year extensions.

I hope we're at least competitive. Our last two loses were awful

Not soon enough. Although with the as-graceful-as-possible departure of Joe Dumars.

9th place, lost pick, lose moose for nothing, goodbye dumars, get round 2 of jenning/smith chuckfest next year and than finally some semblance of sanity.

Or worse ... Keep dumars and suck forever.

HOPEFULLY we encourage Smith and Jennings to keep jacking up shots as "it's the only way we have a chance to win games" and we start losing more games than ever. In the meantime we tell Monroe and Drummond something to the effect of "we've got you, don't worry" so they don't get any more discouraged than they already are. We keep our draft pick, draft the best player available (Hopefully a PG or SF) We trade Smith and Jennings during the draft to any team with cap space who wants them even if we only get 2nd round picks back, then round out or roster with solid shooters and defenders who aren't chuckers.

pretty much this.
i think the knicks could still be a realistic destination for both jennings and smith in the offseason, if not, at least one of them. exum/wiggins/smart/parker instead of smith/jennings would be a godsend. hell, even aaron gordon, ennis, or vonleh would be nice.

exum looks like an extremely athletic manu ginobili. he's gonna turn some heads, hopefully with the pistons

If we're talking about what SHOULD get done, this is it.

Since we SHOULD have done things at the trade deadline and didn't, I'm not so optimistic that the offseason will go this smoothly.

If we lose tonight, and NY wins we're already tied for the 8th worst record in the NBA and we're only going to get worse once the hope of the playoffs is over.

Also, someone said yesterday (I forget who, but I think it was Clarity) we're only 3.5 games out of having the 5th worst record in the whole league. There's really not as much separation between us and the really bad teams as people think.

people don't realize how important stuckey is. he's our best perimeter scorer. if we really are tanking, then we should've traded him to a contender for a draft pick and given his PT to KCP.

then again, i could nitpick dumars for days...

A buyout is still possible. Probably not likely, but if Villanueva gets a buyout it'll be interesting to see if Stuckey gets one too. Here's hoping.

even still, for a man who values his "assets", dumars is doing a horrible job obtaining them. we could have traded stuckey for an expiring deal and a 2nd rounder or two and bought out that contract. instead, we did nothing. like always, we did nothing.

Of course, if we beat Atlanta tonight we're only 5 games 2.5 games out of the 7th seed and Atlanta and Charlotte both have really difficult schedules coming up.

Charlotte has NO, MEM, SA, OKC, MIA, IND for their next 6 games... They could easily go 1-5 in those 6 games.

Atlanta, has US (which is very winnable for them) and than NY, CHI(who has been playing really well), and then they have a 5 game west coast trip that includes PHO, POR, GS, and the Clippers... They could easily go 2-6 in their next 8.
