What I saw was a team that was more methodical.
Wall played a very different game today. Like daddy PG was watching. Wall didn't play hero ball. I didn't see the long 2s. He ran the offense like Miller does.
9 shots, 12 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block. He took care of his duties as a PG and let the team score. Tonight they feed the post a lot to Nene and Gortat. Nene had 19 shots.
It looks like a slowed down half court playoff style. The part that hasn't gotten work out is how to generate open looks from 3 and for Beal and TA in this style offense. TA hardly shot at all and only took one 3 ball.
Not sure what to make of it just yet. Its definitely felt different. Slower. But without Ves and Temple, the rotations did seem more predictable. I was less stressed about the offense when Miller came in. But since Beal can't generate his own shot and he isn't that great at driving, he looked kind of lost out there. And TA had no idea how to get an open look. But both focused on playing D so they had some impact.
Looks like they are missing a SF that can dribble to me. PP would fit nicely on a unit like this. Not so sure if TA will. We will see. Might have missed on a chance to sell high if he isn't going to look as good in this style. But he did have 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
Just one game. Its a data point. Need to see more.
