Jamal Crawford
This is more of an appreciation thread.
I'm surprised how Crawford is able, at 33, to still be a top SG, while he's been overlooked/underrated by a lot of people in the past, and I think he still is.
Bleacher Report let him outside of "top 10 SG entering 2013-14 season", while guys like Klay Thompson, Butler, JR Smith and Eric Gordon went in. But when you look at current production, I can't see him outside of top5, while he still can be a backup PG when needed.

Re: Jamal Crawford
I think the fun thing about him is it feels like he's been around forever (and he has) but he and his game have looked the same for like 10 years.

Re: Jamal Crawford
Watching the Clippers I see that he takes almost every big shot for them in key game situations and all the players and coaches seem pretty content to see him with that responsibility. That's surprising for anyone who has watched him in his previous stints.

Funny how Jamal looks so smooth playing while Jordan Crawford plays like a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) version of his brother. (I'm talking about how awkward he looks playing)

Re: Jamal Crawford
Great, great ball handler, shooter and now on a winning team ... I'm happy for him! I try to emulate his cross over in my molasses white boy speed... still works though... two dribbles behind the back up and over LAYUP!
EDIT: 19PPG ... wow... 18 per (not bad) ... 6MOTY for sure!

How is that surprising?
Crawford has always been clutch and never shied away from taking the big shots when the game is on the line. Hes hit a bunch in his career too.
Always liked Crawford when he was on NYK. Was sad to see him traded but understoon and im happy that hes finding his fit on a contender.
Go Knicks!

Yeah.. It's funny how different Deron Williams, Derrick Williams, Marvin Williams and Mo Williams play so differently despite being identical quadruplets (that happened to be born in different years)

Re: Jamal Crawford
Paul will be the one taking most of those shots when it matters though, he's just passively getting back in rhythm.
But yeah. Jamal is probably the best player in the league at getting up a 40% shot in isolation no matter what (opponent, time left, double team, all those things), and that's a very valuable skill that no coach of his knew how to use until he got to Atlanta. He still hurts his team in many ways though.

Re: Jamal Crawford
Been huge for the team with Paul and early in the season Blake being overly passive at times and looking to be assertive. The guy is such as a professional as well in his interviews you can tell he just has such a strong feel for the game. It's hard to see how this guy was such a problem on the Knicks and in Portland. He can be shot happy at times but he constantly looking to do what needs to be done.
Hopefully he can retire a Clipper with a ring. Amazing at his age he is able to go on pure skill and craft.

I can't speak for his Portland days but he was never a locker room problem with the Knicks,. His coaches loved him, even Larry Brown who is one of the toughest coaches to please. He's a great guy
One of my favorite non all stars of all time to watch. His shot selection sometimes leaves a bit to be desired, but his game is so aesthetically pleasing. The way he has the ball on a string as a ballhandler, his crossovers, the arch he gets on his jumpers, his quick release off the dribble. Especially when he gets going on days like yesterday he can be appointment TV. This is a guy with three 50 point games on the resume with three different teams. If he ever has a 50 point game with the Clips, i believe he will be the first guy in history to do it with 4 teams

Re: Jamal Crawford
I remember reading something about how he doesn't work on his game in the summer besides a couple of years ago, pretty amazing how he can stay consistent with his play.

Re: Jamal Crawford
It wasn't that he didn't work on his game it was that all he did was play pick up ball. That is obviously still working on his game but he never worked on shooting drills and things like that.
