The BS Report. Wall always comes off humble and focussed, laid-back and driven all at once. Low-key and fast talking. Who ever heard of a speedy southern drawl? Loved this interview:

That's great to see John enjoying himself and taking in the events of all-star weekend. I'm also glad that he remains hungry for the personal and team accolades. I think he understands that if the team is doing well, then his chance for recognition increases.
I also thought that he brought up a good point about Lebron's dunks. His dunks really aren't that great. People just get excited when he does them.

Well, compared to the really acrobatic dunks you see from a Terrence Ross or Paul George, no his dunks aren't graceful like that. Although they say his pregame warmup dunks are ridiculous.
But the reason people get excited when LeBron dunks in games is because he's a power dunker that goes to the rim so hard. He doesn't usually slow down when he goes for the dunk. It's awesome in the moment. I LOVE when Beal and Nene do it. Although I could live without LeBron's occasional WWE antics after he does it. Most effective in game punctuation to an awesome play is to just smile and be happy, or say nothing and get back on D or run the floor on offense. Act like it's just something you do.

I am very excited to see if John plays off the ball with AMiller. I think he will thrive playing a few minutes at the SG spot where he can worry more about attacking and less about running the offense.

John had a great performance tonight with a 9:1 assist to TO ration while scoring 21 points. He definitely could have added to his assist total if Seraphin didn't mess up easy shots.

I don't think there is a PG in the league who is hurt more than Wall in regards to lost assists. There are so many times he delivers a great pass only to have his teammate brick a shot or bobble the pass. He's basically a 20/10 per game player.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Good article to check out on floor spacing, Wall long jumpers, lack of driving, etc.

^^^^Very informative article...with a lot of stuff that many on this board have been pointing out. Thanks for posting.
Article makes the case that the main reason JW can't penetrate is that the presence of Gortat and Nene is leading to congestion in the driving lanes. That needs to be fixed ASAP. Maybe with Nene possibly out for a while we'll see more Webster/Ariza/Beal/Wall/Gortat lineups.

Wait a sec. John drives better when the Wiz have Seraphin in there because Seraphin has a better mid-range jump shot?

Since Jan 1 Wall is shooting 34.5% from 3 on 4 attempts per game. That is a big step for him.

I think Nene has a better midrange jumper than the article gives him credit for.

Agreed.
Don't forget Al Harrington is back and he can stretch out for 3. I'm curious to see him coming back helps out. Also if Miller and Wall are on court together if they can allow Wall to slash in.

Yeah I don't buy this. Seraphin doesn't open up the floor. He doesn't move much, just stays planted around the low post like our other bigs.
The article is right that teams don't guard our bigs outside the post though. Nene has a decent jumper and his jumper is always open.
The bigs are passable pick and fade options but they aren't good pick and fade options. If we had a true shooter, they'd have to guard him and unpack the paint.

Re: Official John Wall Appreciation Thread 2.0
The stuff in that article about Wall being underrated is...well...nonsense. If anything, he's wrapped all the way back around to being overrated. Particularly by the write of that article.

Re: Official John Wall Appreciation Thread 2.0
As of right now I'd say he's properly rated. At least to pundits and fans that watch constantly. I don't expect anybody to say he's the best PG in the league or better than CP3 or Curry, but I do believe you can make a strong case for him to be a top 5, which has an abundance of capable PGs right there too.

Wall's not a top 5 PG for this season. He may be soon, but he's not there yet. I wouldn't argue with top 10, but he's not top 5. I really like his potential, but NO ONE would be talking about this as a break-out season for him if he played in the West. His play this season is very similar to his play last season. Good, but not great.
