He met the team in New Orleans where he's taking his physical. Assuming all is clear, he will sign today and could even suit up for tonight's game.

DAVIS: ‘BEING ON THIS TEAM IS FRESH ENERGY’
Davis signs with the Clippers

NEW ORLEANS – Glen “Big Baby” Davis had only been with the Clippers for a few minutes Monday morning, but even then it was clear how much he could help them in their drive toward the Playoffs.
Davis, who mutually agreed to a contract buyout with the Orlando Magic on Friday, signed with the Clippers after clearing waivers. He joined the team in New Orleans for the final game of their three-game road trip and took part in the morning meeting to prepare for the Pelicans, eating breakfast with his new teammates. He will wear jersey No. 12 on Monday and likely switch to No. 0, his number at LSU, when the team returns home.
“It really hasn’t hit me yet,” Davis said. “It really hasn’t donned on me. Everything’s happened so fast. Today was my first day of just really eating breakfast with the guys. It’s my first experience of bringing back old memories, especially with Doc [Rivers] and Armond Hill and [Tyronn Lue] and Kevin Eastman. They’re a great group of guys and I won a championship with them, so we have a bond.”
Davis, 28, played the first four seasons of his career in Boston with Rivers and a number of the Clippers assistants that he named. He won a title in 2008 as a rookie and was an integral part of the team’s run to the Finals in 2010.
He’s appeared in 69 postseason games, including five with the Magic two seasons ago. He started 14 games for the Celtics in the 2009 Playoffs place of Kevin Garnett (knee), averaging 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and shooting 49.1 percent from the floor. He hit the biggest shot of the postseason as well, nailing a jumper off a pick-and-roll feed from Paul Pierce at the buzzer to give Boston a 95-94 victory over Orlando in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Getting back to the postseason after missing out in 2012-13 and having a chance to win a second title is something that weighed heavily in Davis’ decision to join the Clippers (38-20) instead of other potential suitors.
“I’ve always made the Playoffs in my career and not playing for something was crazy,” Davis said. “Being on this team is some fresh energy, knowing that you can help a team win a championship is important. It feels good.”
And he should make an impact right away. He knows Rivers’ system. He is a willing and rugged post defender, and while Davis is not ideal in terms of height, he has the rebounding ability and toughness to play center or power forward.
“It gives us another big,” Rivers said. “What I like about a guy like that is he can play the 5 or the 4. He knows my system.”
He could be valuable as a pick-and-pop player with Chris Paul, playing alongside Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan. He also can provide offensive balance. In 2010-11, Davis scored 22.4 percent of his points in spot up situations and 22.1 percent on post ups, according to Synergy Sports.
“It’s awesome, especially for me being a guy who sets screens and gets guys open,” Davis said of Paul. “He finds them. That is just awesome. It makes it so much easier for me, having a guy who can find me. It kind of gives me an advantage.”
In Davis’ final season with the Celtics he shot 36.1 percent from 16-24 feet, taking 321 field goals from that distance. Davis was most deadly that season from 10-14 feet, shooting 45.2 percent.
"With us [in Boston], we had Perk [Kendrick Perkins] and we had Kevin Garnett [inside]," Rivers said when the Clippers visited Orlando in November. "We needed a guy to stretch the floor. And so we really worked with him [Davis] and asked him to do that. He did that for the good of the team and it was important for us."
Of course, Davis also provides an emotional lift.
“He always plays hard,” Jamal Crawford said. “He wears his emotions on his sleeve. Obviously, being with Doc before helps. There is not an adjustment there. He knows what to expect every single night.
“There are things he’ll be able to tell, being with Doc before. He’ll be like, ‘No, no, you can go that way or that way.’ I think that could help tremendously.”
Davis agreed.
“What Doc wants is for you to play hard and play the right way, give yourself up for the next guy,” Davis said. “That was embedded in my brain as a rookie and my four years playing with him. That’s just a part of my game. The think he noticed it and asked me to come along.”

Lowe Down on Clips' Acquisition of Glen Davis
Great analysis of not only the addition of Big Baby but the Clippers team as a whole by the incomparable Zach Lowe. I recommend reading the article or at least the first half of it.

Zach Lowe, Grantland (2/24/14)
Big Baby’s presence as a pop-only artist should mesh nicely with Jordan’s game and allow Griffin to rediscover his Lob City roots for short stretches. Davis isn’t a spacing salve. His shot has no gravity; he doesn’t draw extra defensive attention, and teams are happy to let him hoist. But he can work in this offense, provided he dials it back a bit, and turns some of those midrange jumpers into dribble handoffs that keep the offense flowing. Davis is a mean screener, having learned at the feet of Kevin Garnett, the league’s sensei of illegal picks. And in those rare minutes when both Paul and Griffin hit the bench, Davis can wobble and butt his way to the occasional post-up bucket, though he’s struggled on the block this season.
The real dividends come on the other end, where Davis is a solid defender who moves his feet well and is borderline unmovable in the post. Tom Thibodeau, the league’s premier defensive perfectionist, adored Big Baby in Boston, and the Magic acquired him in the first place in part because Dwight Howard hated trying to move all that weight down low. Howard plays in the Western Conference now, on the team with whom the Clips are competing for the no. 3 seed. Zach Randolph’s team is making a playoff push, and Z-Bo reminded Griffin again in Memphis on Friday that guarding him on the low block is a very unpleasant job that can flat overwhelm Griffin at times. There is also LaMarcus Aldridge’s post game and Robin Lopez’s offensive rebounding in Portland, and big front lines in both San Antonio (if the Spurs ever get healthy) and Oklahoma City. Heck, even Golden State can beat you up a bit with David Lee and Andrew Bogut.

Usually when a GM is batting .333, it means he's saddled the team with some awful contracts or found some other way to cripple the team's future (see the Lakers). None of those guys that he's signed have hurt the team beyond their lack of contribution.

yeah when you factor in that 3 of those guys were 10 day deals, Doc is actually batting .500. still hope he relegates everyday operation to Gary Sacks and we keep him around for a long time.

The Los Angeles Clippers have added Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis for the stretch run
“I just really felt the Clippers were heading in the right direction. They're young, they got a great coach, a great point guard, a great rising star like Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan and guys that you can build around, and I feel like I'm one of those types of guys, a glue guy."
Davis was certainly a “glue guy” on the Celtics but was forced to be a starter and a veteran leader with the Magic, a role he wasn’t entirely comfortable with. Now, back with Rivers and on a team with their own version of the “Big Three” in Paul, Griffin and Jordan, Davis can go back to the role he relished being in with the Celtics.
“My role with Boston and not being there and not being in that role, you kind of miss it when you go to another team and you have to do other things other than what you do,” Davis said. “Here I can just do what I do and it will be magnified and glorified as something important because we’re trying to win something bigger than self. It means a lot for me to be here right now.”

Davis is famously undersized in terms of height, but he’ll supply the Clippers with needed moving frontcourt feet on the defensive end. He can be taken advantage of in the low post at times, but he’ll also use his significant clout to bang and push potential low post scorers off of the blocks. Rare is the player that can act as both a defensive liability and asset on the same night, but that’s Glen Davis for you. He’s got a goofy game.
He also likes to shoot. A lot. To varying degrees of success:

Re: Glen Davis
Hopefully he'll stay in his role and fit with team right away. Forget about his offense, he'll be huge just for the defensive minutes he can give us. We can now sub him in and send DJ to the bench if they're hacking him, or if Blake is having trouble guarding Randolph or Lee or whoever we face in the playoffs. We can put him Howard if we face the Rockets, he's one of the best guys in the league at guarding him. He knows Rivers' defense, so hopefully he'll be yelling at DJ and Blake when they're out of position. It could be a huge signing if everything goes well.

Re: Glen Davis
it's pretty huge. he instantly becomes our most reliable big man off the bench, and he gives cp3 a dedicated pick and pop player, something we haven't really had from one of our bigs.
it'd be very, very difficult for him to not make a sizable impact on our team. i think if redick comes back in any meaningful time we can really see something special develop heading into the playoffs.

at this point I'd agree.
