Knicks to Have Own D-League Team in White Plains This Fall

Post#1 » by TrueWarrior » Thu Feb 27, 2014 12:50 am

Dont see anything about this but its been all over twitter for a few hours.

We will have a new team, all our own, in White Plains (Westchester). They will play in the County Center which is a nice arena. I've played there a few times. The BayHawks are staying where they are.

I mean hey it's good news. We need all the young talent we can get and this will allow us to easily send up and down our own young players to get some PT.

Hopefully every team has their own affiliate at some point, as I still dont like how another NBA team can just pluck any player on our D-League team unless they're on the Knick roster. Seems counterproductive to develop somebody only to have him easily snatched up, but I guess it's better for the player to have more suitors.

Now get me another Lin.

Probably to practice against. Should be about even in terms of talent between the Knicks and their D league team.

Every team should have its own affiliate. This is good, hopefully they'll start using it to play the players Woodson doesn't want to.

Lmao the thought of Knicks using the new D league affiliate as a bargaining chip to Melo has me rolling

White Power!? :D
"Yeah, you are. You right, bro" - Joe Dumars telling every PG on the roster they are starting.

Pure 100% unadulterated speculation on my part but maybe just maybe this shows we're concerned Melo is leaving, as we could be scrounging for D Leaguers on 1 year deals like the Lakers did this year after Dwight bounced.

But nah there's been talk of the Knicks owning their own team for a while now I suppose.

They already owned the Bayhawks no? We're the only team affiliated with them I know that.. so I guess they'll go back to be another teams affiliate?

Developing talent? Hmmm, that's not something I'm familiar with as a Knicks fan.
