Yes, b2b games, especially both on the road and the second game against a high quality opponent isn't usually a recipe for success. When guys come out slow like they did and jumpers are off means tired legs.

Don't be surprised to see a much better performance at home after some rest.

they shouldn't be tired in the first quarter
the game before was a sacramento blowout game
it's not like they play hard for those 3 quarters
they were pretty much cruising in the 2nd half
fatigue isn't the right excuse for this lost

More like a fresh Clippers team came out much faster. I'm not making excuses, rather trying to maintain perspective.

clippers not just faster
those starters didn't even show they want to play
they were slower

This is the first I've heard of that and I find it very concerning.

Where are you hearing this? I don't want it to be true!

I have the Bleacher Report Team Stream app on my phone and I follow the Rockets stream. It's pretty cool for staying on top of all the latest "happenings". Someone had tweeted that they spotted Lin getting some back work done during one of the games or something. There wasn't much detail and nothing else was really said about it.

And what's up with TJones minutes lately? He had a GREAT January and the Rockets seem to do well when he does well.

And now...last 5 games he hasn't even cracked 25 minutes...and he's been sat entire 4th quarters. I know DMo has been doing better as of late, but (and again I come back to the coaching stff) I just wonder if all this inconsistent playing time starts to get into the heads of the players. DMo has been splitting minutes almost equally with TJones.

I still think TJones is the better player.

i've focused on jones for the past few weeks or so mainly in the first quarter. my observations:

- moves very well, likely because he's virtually unknown and no focus is given to him
- gets the easy buckets through interior passes from dwight as he's doubled, lobs at point blank range
- is a big part why we gain big leads in the first quarters because as the game progresses he gets cut off, boxed out by defenders and easy buckets disappear
- has a really slow release, which makes him a terrible face-up player although he can use his size and athleticism to gain a few steps into the key
- defense was overrated, usually gets the block on broken plays of offense. personally i don't remember him getting a straight up block on somebody because he solely outworked them.

jones might be the better player individually at this point, but dmo has been improving drastically and i think fits better with the team aspect. it might be early, but if i was mchale i'd change up the starting lineup. a lot of what jones contributes can be done easily by the other starters, dmo's role as the starter would be doing the small things as the glue guy which i think is more valuable to this group.

The only players that is untouchable is McHale's big 3: Harden, Parson and Beverley. Everyone else is expendable

asik back = no minutes for jones at backup center
dmo cracking the rotation = splitting minutes with tjones
jones in a slump = even less minutes

and with hamilton off to strong start with the rockets, u know they're gonna run him and parsons at the 3/4 for small ball

if u still have him in ur fnatsy teams u shold drop him, or try to trade

So we have Detroit tomorrow night at home, right?

This is good for the team to get a few days off back home.

This is the problem with McHale, there is no consistency outside of Parson, Harden and Beverley. But I think Beverley is expendable when Lin is trade.

All good coaches let's their players play through their slump.

the cleveland game (lin's triple-doubles game) parsons played badly
mchale go with haren/lin/beverley instead
good coaches don't let all their players play through slump
only stars get to do it
if you are bench players you suck you are going back to the bench
if you are in slump and the coach still play you
you are looking at bad team don't have anyone else worthy to take the min from slump player
mchale is doing pretty good job
remember this is only his 3rd season as a coach
to me if we have a good backup sg
mchale will sit haren if he suck
problem is we don't have anyone to take min from him
sorry lin not you

McHale has benched Harden a couple time but he did not in Clippers game but to me that was because in that game when he went to the bench the offense was worse. That might have Been Harden's worst 4th quarter this year. Still looking for him to show up.
