I started a 20 team 4 division Real GM h2h keeper league last year...

Recruited a bunch of people from this board that ended up to be dead weight and need
to be replaced. 11 people renewed back and I've recruited another 4-6 GM's that have a
proven track record of being active and successful.

I will probably have another 4 or 5 teams that need to be replaced. If you're interested I can
post the rosters on here and you can adopt a team.

For more info on the league let me know. Serious inquiries only please.

I'd be interested in taking over a team. I'm no FBB expert but have been playing fantasy sports for several years now and am pretty active. I think I finished 6/19 in Fenris's RealGM Roto league last season for what it's worth haha.

Would be nice to know the scoring, keeper rules and rosters?

You don't have to be a Fantasy expert but I'm just looking for highly active GM's that will
update their rosters everyday, make lots of waiver wire moves, have an avatar, speak up
on league matters etc. Usually casual players and rookies end up falling by the waste side.
So I try and find the most competitive GMs that want to win badly as I can find. I also commish
a Real GM NBA, NHL and NFL 20 team Keeper League and all 20 teams are active which makes
for a fun league.

Here is some info...

- 20 teams with 4 divisions of 5 teams
- 8 teams make the playoffs including division winners
- Scoring is standard Yahoo stats (HR, RBI, AVG, Runs, SB, W, SO, SV, WHIP, ERA)
- 8 Keepers per year (you can keep the player until he retires if you want)
- 5 IR spots
- 5 NA available spots (Minor league prospects and suspended players)
- Trading of draft picks is allowed
- Draft order is based on the previous seasons regular season standings worst to first
- There was weekly power rankings last year not sure if I will do it this year

I've always wanted a competitive league that actually encouraged what can be described as casual play and never really been satisfied. I absolute hate that in most fantasy baseball the most active wins. This is largely true of all fantasy, but some strategies for Baseball make it worse.

Specifically, I've always wanted a league that only has weekly windows for waivers and add/drop movement. This is so there's no lame starter streaming and if an injury happens that is going to 'cause the next big thing to get his call-up, it doesn't automatically go to the guy with the least life. Daily lineups would be fine with me, although I don't think they're necessary, but I dislike how much fantasy "skill" is just activity.

Mostly 'cause I've never taken it seriously admittedly, but also 'cause I don't think I'm alone in that watching this occur is what kills off casual players all the time. If you hear about something significant in Baseball happening, but you know it happened 2 hours ago, there's not usually even a point trying to add the player, someone else already scooped him up 1hr58min ago. That happens a couple times and there stops being much reason to be active 'cause most of us choose to not even try to compete with that type of player.

I just want something with an even playing field for people who have no interest in getting fantasy updates on their phone and/or the ability to add/drop Dylan Bundy at 2am in mid-June when Miguel Gonzalez gets hurt in a game at Petco.

And don't get me wrong, it's not about not spending time. I'll make spreadsheets and waste **** endless hours planning and building my team and offering trades and what not, I'm as lame a sports nerd as there is, I just refuse to subsume my daily life to it.

I didn't play fantasy at all last year 'cause I couldn't find a league like this and the one I tried to create didn't garner enough interest, but if anyone ever made a league that had active people for trading and jibber jabber, but were willing to restrict how and when add/drop and lineups could happen, I'd be all over it.

None of which was really relevant to your post, you just furnished me the opportunity to vent.

In my leagues the most active people or "waiver whores" don't necessarily equal the best GM's.
I've been one of the most successful GM's in the leagues and my waiver move total for the year is
either low or league average. I spend maybe 5-10 minutes a day looking at my team it doesn't consume
my life at all.

In 20 teams leagues with all 20 teams active the waiver wire is usually thin anyways which encourages
smart trades if you want to get better. With the Keeper element you have a lot of teams deciding
to become buyers or sellers and with the option of trading draft picks it adds another dimension
to everything.

I just don't want any people that make 1-5 waiver moves all year don't update their roster daily
and don't respond to trade requests. I want people that take pride in their Yahoo Fantasy performance
record and love competing and enjoy a true authentic fantasy sports experience like the great
group I've networked with to create these 20 team leagues.

Cool thanks for all the info. Yeah I'd definitely be interested in taking over a team if you're still looking. Pretty active in all my fantasy leagues, currently involved in 4 competitive leagues (2 football, 2 basketball) so looking to join a baseball one, even if there's no money involved.

I started up a free Yahoo competitive league where we need a few more GMs. Please PM me your email address if you are interested and I'll send you the link to join!

Is anyone interested(or currently is part of one with openings for me) in a $25-$50(leaguesafe stored)standard 5 X 5 12 team roto league? I've found it pretty much impossible to find a competitive and challenging league when there's no money involved. Would there be any interest if i a created one, i'd be cool if the players were from realgm but we can fill out a few spots from somewhere else.

Can you define "pretty active" for me? Sorry I gotta be so apprehensive but people have promised
me that before. Most of the people I had to replace were from this board last year.

The 15 soon to be 16 GMs I got are all proven and active Fantasy players so I'm being very selective
on who I choose to join as it's going to be a great league for years to come.

I've liked what I heard from you so far. If you can promise me you're the type of GM who
updates his roster daily, is active on the waiver wire and likes to make trades and maybe sport
a logo then you're in.

what do you think about posting the rosters? , i'd be interested and active but not if i have to clean up some no show's mess of a team, are any of them even half decent? I dont really want to do an interview, but this is my second year of fantasy baseball and basketball, and soon to be fourth or fifth for football, i stay active, always near the top of the league in transactions
Just 8* years ago Andrea Bargnani was my franchise player, you MF'ers can't rain on my parade

No problem, I know it sucks to be the commish of a league that has a bunch of dead teams. Well I guess by pretty active I meant those things that you mentioned haha, like updating rosters, keeping an eye on FA/waivers, etc. I've been playing fantasy sports casually since 2006 and have seen inactive teams ruin a league many times so I wouldn't pull that on ya if that's what you're worried about.

I used to run a league on this forum but I play in too many other leagues to do it anymore.

I got your request to join my league and removed a team for you. 2 or 3 more can be removed, they joined via custom league listings.
Draft is tomorrow at 6:30pm though, might be a bit last minute.

Hey guys...

A team needs to be replaced in the 20 team Real GM Keeper League as the owner
doesn't have the time to look after his team anymore.

If you're interested in joining a highly active and competitive league where every owner
is dedicated let me know. I'm looking for an owner who has a bit of a track record of
success who will speak up on league matters have a team logo and be dedicated to the
league like the other 19 owners for years to come.

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
