Im about to start "scouting" Lavine. Can someone summarize what I have been missing? I've box score watched lately, and ehhh..

Aaron Gordons stock isn't exactly rising either.

Eh, Saric is basically a cog in a well oiled machine kind of player. He's still got a long way to go on that shot before he's a stretch 4. Actually, I don't think he can play 4 at all in the NBA.

Here's an extensive write-up I did on him for The Lottery Mafia if anyone is interested:

Dude's a baller but unless he goes to the right team we're looking at a Cody Zeller level of impact more likely.

You haven't really missed nothing yet. He's made a 3-pointer & a tough long pull-up jumper, and he's made a couple of nice passes, but that's about it. I expect for him to be more assertive in the 2nd half, and hopefully lead UCLA to a win without their two leading scorers. If not, I'll be disappointed. However, that won't make me stop disliking his game. I just like the skill sets that he possess for the effortless jump shooting with range, ball handling ability, and playmaking skills

All you need to know about Lavine is that he can carry big blue balls like nobody's business:

If we avoided a sure thing in Jefferson and tanked just to get Randle, I would've been so pissed. I've really enjoyed this season and am optimistic about the future. I'm glad we didn't pin our franchise hopes on landing an elite talent in this draft.

Julius Randle is officially on my 'DO NOT WANT' list, Bobcats or Sixers

Question: How high of a pick do you think the Bobcats can acquire by dangling the Portland pick and Zeller?

None, and my reasoning is because no team would even consider picking Zeller in the lottery of the 2014 draft if he could be re-drafted upon viewing his production & translation to the NBA as a rookie, so no team would want to take on his top-5 pick based salary knowing that he's really a mid-1st round talent

Well I think after Parker he's the other gem of the draft.

The dude has post moves, can handle the ball like a guard and is incredibly quick for his size. He's a jump shot away from stardom and his shooting mechanics are decent enough as a foundation for Mark Price to work with.

Want him badly.

ESPN now has our targets as:

1)Vonleh
2)Saric
3)Harris

There are 2 PF's in there.

I remain hopeful we trade up for Randle.

Saric is a SF in the NBA, he is too small to be PF, and we wont trade up for Randle he is a top 5 pick and we won't trade the assets needed to get into top 5

Randle is much stronger, much thicker, much sturdier, much quicker and a much much much better ball handler, but ok.

Randle is a way better prospect than Zeller. And yeah, Saric is definitely a SF in the NBA. He's a risky pick.

He shot 1-for-7 today in a loss to the unranked Gamecocks, basically got owned by a backup C from Lithuania. I went into this collegiate season thinking Randle could be the better prospect out himself, Wiggins, & Parker, but he's not. It'll take Randle a while to become a impact player in the NBA, considering his porous defense & lack of offensive awareness right now. I believe he'll get better offensively since he has the versatility, but he'll never be a good defender from what I've seen

Very few of these kids play the game right on both sides of the ball but look at what Clifford has done with Big Al who supposedly had the same "porous" reputation. Good coaching and systems approach matters. All Randle has to do is match McRoberts or Cody in the system. He's got plenty enough raw talent and size to do that on defense, to get to his spot. Randle just needs to blossom in the right system.

And his game on offense is tantalizing. I wish it were Randle but again, I think Cho and company prefer Vonleh + the Blazers pick.

I would prefer Vonleh + Blazers pick too

Vonleh isn't a sexy pick, but he has a better overall game than Randle. Semantically, I'd rather have the guy compared to Chris Bosh than the guy compared to Zach Randolph

I just found out that Randle's wingspan is only 6-10. :o

I don't know if that ZBo comp can stick since Zbo has a 7-4 wingspan.
