I clearly see the value of McDermott as a shooter, inside and out, high BBIQ, facilitator etc.

I just see their draft board as nothing fancy:

A-Vonleh
B-Harris

And their plan:

A1-Vonleh/Turner
A2-Vonleh/Lance
B1-Harris/Turner
B2-Harris/Deng

But since they're realistic about where Vonleh will fall (including Randle) and because they already have McRoberts and Zeller (they're bullish on both), they're preparing to address SG with Harris and that just happens to be the one position they have not planned for long-term yet through the lottery. You can already make 4/5 of a starting lineup through their lottery picks

Kemba-PG
_____-SG
MKG-SF
Zeller-PF
Biyombo-C

It will be Harris and the fact Cho scouted Zeller all year gives him comfort having seen alot of Harris. Plus the fact Cho appeared on the list of scouts for the Michigan State game.

I hate it but Harris fits their patterns snugly.

I also believe they like Neal for both the here-and-now and as a placeholder next year for Harris while he fights through typical rookie struggles to find his outside shot. Of course you can't plan for that or for even receiving the pick but it's an added bonus you might mention when targeting players at the deadline and lobbying for your guy.

If Cho drafts Vonleh he's basically trying to get fired b/c that would be implying that Zeller was a big ol' mistake.

...but he could always blame it on the weak draft class. There's some justification for passing on Noel (injury), McLemore (worst than Zeller), Len (worst than Zeller), and etc.

I believe the only pick that Cho passed on in the 2013 draft that may loom over him is passing on Noel, but as I aforementioned, there's some justification

Im not expecting us to draft a big, we will go SG or SF (Harris or McDermott probably) and i also don't think we spend all our cap on one or two players (Deng,Turner,Lance) we might get one of them (only like Lance) and we will spend the rest on role players to fill out roster and of course the rookies

Players i don't want in FA

1)Turner he can't do anything Gerald can't do and he is a worse shooter than Gerald
2) Deng good all-around but not worth what we will have to pay
3) Rudy Gay he is a team killer (has Player Option)
4) Danny Granger (injury prone as hell)

Players i don't want to draft

1) Marcus Smart (nutcase)
2) Wiggins
3) Aaron Gordon
4) WCS (big project and we have Biz)

Disagree. I disagree strongly simply because that draft was garbage. I don't think Zeller is the kind of player that you can make future draft choices around. If he thinks Vonleh is the best player available, then take Vonleh. Vonleh is likely much better than Zeller.

If they thought the draft was that bad they would have traded down or taken a chance on Giannis or something. Cho had a hard on for Zeller ever since he started scouting him his freshman year so there is no way we're drafting somebody that gives CZ competition.

It's about the quality of the player available and the advantage of depth in the front court, especially with McRoberts having an option.

But again, I don't think they expect Vonleh to be there. They will draft him if he is.

They expect Harris to be there and that's who they're planning on.

imo

Yeah the Knicks are most certainly not tanking, just terrible.

LP is correct, Denver owns their pick.

It's funny because some teams are legitimately just terrible but because they own their own pick, people assume they are just tanking..

Pistons better start winning a little bit or we aren't getting that pick. Its as simple as that.

Utah is behind the Pistons and I'm not sure the Jazz are going to win enough to overtake them.

Everyone else is flat out tanking behind them.

Wasn't there some site posted on here that had up to the minute updates on where each team would be picking if the season ended right then and there?

www.tankingforwiggins.com

It's an excellent site and also has the ESPN mock alongside the picks.

Suns, Kings, and Knicks all lost tonight. Pretty decent night in regards to us keeping our pick.

Add the Jazz to that list.

Pistons losing to the Knicks. They are tanking as bad as anyone in the league right now.

The pistons beat the Knicks..it's like the pistons want us to have this pick.
