GT: Bobcats vs. Spurs

Post#1 » by Nolan » Fri Feb 28, 2014 4:24 pm

When: 8:30 PM ET, February 28, 2014
Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX

Should be a good one against the Bobcats tonight. Big Al's been on fire as of late so stopping him is going to the key to winning this one.

Go Spurs!!

The Al Jefferson signing will probably go down as the best signing the Bobcats ever made or will make being as the turn back into the Hornets next year. Would like to see Tiago and Kawhi have a good games for confidence reasons.

Pretty cool seeing Gary Neal come over and give the whole team hugs after.

Yup. And it's fun to watch Gary Neal battle againts Marco. Both guys tried to go at it but the amazing thing is that they do it within the offense. It's not like Dion Waiters' allstar game where he just go one-on-one. These guys were running around screens and their teammates are looking for them. It was fun to watch IMO.

Gary Neal: 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assists.
Marco: 14 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, and the WIN.

Sorry Gary.. advantage Marco 1-0.

I would like to point out that this is the second game in a row that Pop experimented the no PG lineup in extended minutes. The PGs are usually Manu or Marco. Sometimes together, sometimes one of them with Danny Green.

Also happy that Pop returns to early in the year's starting lineup and bench rotation. Remember when Marco won the starting job over Danny?

I really like this current rotation though.

Green and Kawhi in the backcourt along with Duncan and Splitter gives us our best defensive unit to start the game.

And then the foreign legion comes in. Ayers, Diaw, Manu, Marco, Mills. And they come in passing the ball all over the place.

And then after some minor subtitutions that usually gets Manu out early in the 2nd quarter so that he can finish the end of half fresh, we usually end up with our best offensive lineup with Duncan, Diaw, Kawhi, Manu, and Parker.

It's a great rotation IMO.

I prefer Marco in the first five, but I get why Pop keeps him on the bench to start games.

Man those army jerseys are fugly! Just when I though the regular alternates were bad enough, they go and add camo 8-bit technology over them.

Good win over a surprisingly tough opponent. Neal wanted the win so bad, he was chucking like his life depended on it. TD with the great line of 17-16-6. Man, I wish I drafted him to my fantasy team. I avoided all Spurs players because Pop doesn't tend to play guys more than 30 mins a night, which generally hurts fantasy teams.

Like I said earlier in the year. Whenever Manu is on the floor Marco needs to be as well. Belinelli is proving to be our go-to everything guy and is logging a ton of minutes. But you can see how well he and Manu play together. Other teams have a hard time stopping them and I don't think Manu plays nearly as well when Marco isn't out there with him.. For this reason I prefer both of them coming off the bench.

totally agree. Not just manu, marco gets tons of open looks because of manu. They just play well together. Marco isnt as good with parker.

I'd rather see Green starting for 2 reasons

1 - Tony/Marco back-court is too weak defensively.

2 - I agree with co and ima in the sense that Manu/Marco play better together. They can share some PG duties, while Patty doesn't need to play run plays (he just needs to score).

In the playoffs that's the rotation I'd like to see

Parker/Mills
Green/Belineli
Leonard/Manu
Splitter/Diaw
Duncan

Cojo could be used for defensive purposes depending on the matchup, but that's pretty much what I want and what I expect from Pop in the playoffs. The rest, pretty much all the garbage minutes left.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”
