A clock stuck on 11:59 is right twice a day. Maybe it'll help the Wizards on a West Coast trip somewhere down the line.

Your history is far too kind to John Nash and Jim Lyman. John Nash was an awful GM, and Jim Lyman was an awful coach.
You are also too critical of Wes as a coach. Despite having almost no talent, he had teams that constantly competed. Charles Jones was THE ONLY AVAILABE CENTER for the Bullets for a large part of Wes' coaching career.

The 13th pick in that draft was KOBE BRYANT![]()
The 15th pick... STEVE NASH![]()
The 17th pick.. Jermaine ONeal
The 20th pick ..Zydrunas Ilgauskas
The 24th pick. Derek Fisher
That was a sick draft. Maybe the best ever. And we traded away our pick for an old Mark Price![]()

Thank you for proving my point. John Nash is the one who traded away the pick for Mark Price.
I lived through the history as well, and some of the things you write are true. But as in the Mark Price case some of your history is wrong. I lived through the history and not going to redebate it. You are far too hard on Wes Unseld tenure as a coach, and are far too easy on John Nash.

Make it so Ted. We'd suddenly be much more relevant.
on a related note - I visited the renewal suite last night (Mem) game and
got into a spirited discussion with one of the acct reps. My bottom line point
was that it was completely unfair for the Wizards to expect their season ticket
holders to re-new until we had the information about whether EG would be renewed.
A few other related topics came up but that was the gist of it.

That was my thought, too. PJax would obvs be better than EG, but I'm not sure he'd be a great GM. He has a soft spot for "quirky" players, and this franchise was a case study in the dangers of excessive quirkery [sic].

Let him come here, be a part time lobbyist for national pot legalization legislation and GM the Wiz part time.
Heck, he'll do better than EG by amalgamating the mock draft picks and choosing the consensus choice. Never make a trade. Read our board periodically and take CCJ and Kevin's advice.

When Ernie's last contract was up for renewal, Ted refused to take calls from potential GM candidates, what does that tell you? Besides, Phil is an LA guy, he probably stays on the West Coast.
