Otto may turn out to be a bust, but anyone who watched him in college knows he earned his draft slot.

I watched him in college and didn't think his play would translate to the NBA. Absolutely did not see what his supporters were looking at.

I never saw why he was considered a top 5 pick. Passing on Noel will haunt this team for YEARS!

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Give the kid sometime. The Wizards are the ones who suck for not sending him to the D-League already.

Everyone gets time in the playoffs, I think he'll excel in the more intense setting...it's backwards but the way he played in college was very controlled, slow game...that's sorta like playoff basketball, not just inbound wall run around pass the ball shoot...

Ultimately porter development depends on 2 things..Wittman coaching or wall assisting...

In the playoffs, rotations SHORTEN. If we need a "defender", then Temple gets any spare PT that Beal, Webster, and Ariza don't get. Porter isn't playing a second unless there's a blowout.

Unfortunately wasn't he a junior? Kid is a bust. Drafted for idiotic Georgetown connections.

Juan Dixon, Blake etc etc....the "local connection" marketing logic has bitten this franchise too many times the past decade.

You mean the Steve Blake that was a second round pick and is still in the league 10 years later? A guy Kobe was upset to see traded?

Otto may turn out to be a bust, but anyone who watched him in college knows he earned his draft slot.

Blake proved me wrong long term, readily admit that. But he was a wasted UMD pick that fizzled out in DC. Picked purely to capitalize on UMD's Final 4 run alongside Dixon.

I just disagree strongly with the whole hometown, local player, UMD/Georgetown vibe in a draft setting. Porter for all we know is still hanging with freshmen at GU. How does that help anyone mature?

It goes as far as Buckhantz constantly rambling about local connections no one cares about. Arenas had zero local connections. Know what made him so endeared by local fans/marketable? He won games, and playoff games.

Glad to see Porter make some plays tonight and get meaningful minutes. He's a timely scorer. Came up with that 50/50 ball and nailed the shot as the shot clock expired by being in the right place at the right time. That's what he does. The trailing three was good too. You saw him think about it for a second before squared up and nailed it. It's very important that he gets that shot down.

And I liked his defensive effort too. He's got such long limbs, he can really cover a lot of space. He's nice and tall for his position.

Webster needed a rest badly. He needs to sit until his back gets better because he has not been himself for a while. Play Porter.
