We beat the Cubs! We beat the Cubs! We finally beat the Cubs! Now let's lose 4 more in a row.

But seriously, I hope we can put a good showing tomorrow on ESPN. Watching your team suck on a national stage isn't much fun.

I don't trust Buddy Carlyle against Ted Lilly today. Our bats better be prepared to hit because we could easily get blown out.

it seems like u teams doesnt do well against lefties . . but lilly has been struggling lately so maybe things are even as far as the starting pitchers go . . .

We're like 12-17 against lefties, 22-12 against right. I'm more worried about our starting pitching now.

Bobby should have taken Buddy out after he gave up the first dinger.

Lilly throws at Edgar's head, hits him in the hand. Edgar them got his revenge without getting a pitcher thrown out.

im sure lillys throw was intentional but so was hudsons last night . . . i mean how often does hudson hit a batter, if it was buddy carlyle maybe, but a guy with great contral like hudson, i dont think so. Lilly didnt deserve ejections because no warnings were issued but the ump decided to be an ass and as usual overused his power . . t

I don't think Lilly deserved the ejection, but I'm glad we won.

2.5 back - GO TIME.

hudson's wasn't after the beanball war, Lilly's was. If two teams peg each other one game, then the next one of the team's pitcher throws at the head of one of the top players for the other team, stuff is going to happen. Benches cleared after that hit, what do you think would have happened when Buddy would have pegged Soriano in the head after Renteria get's pegged? Benches clearing, Buddy ejected, Pinella gone, Cox gone, Soriano probably gone, along with a slew of other players. It would have been inevitable that it would have happened. The ump stepped in and prevented something that could have been ugly.

Totally understand where your coming from and it makes for valid reasons.

Glad we got the win tonight, but we need to start playing 5x better. Minny, Cleveland, Boston, and Detroit. Braves screwed with the toughest interleague schedule as usual. Then we have the Washington and Florida powerhouses after that.

We do need to play better. Luckily Cormier is hurt and won't be pitching.

Buddy has looked better than Lance in both of his starts. I hope Bobby keeps going with what is working.
