Something tells me the Knicks will end up with at least one of the following:
Josh Smith
Brandon Jennings
Tyreke Evans
Eric Gordon

it's important for Shumpert and everyone on the team to finish the season strong. That's why I would make a coaching change and see if it sparks the team.

Suns wouldn't want Chandler and his salary over Plumlee and picks. They've been pretty upfront about any big acquisitions needing to be 25 years old or under to grow with the team. The Suns will most likely be looking to make a move for a starting forward.

as a suns fan i felt the need to post on this nonsense.

1.) this is a WTF all around. As much as i dont like Melo, he's worth more than Burke and a couple of expirings.....especially with NY adding a pick. And i have no idea why Melo would resign there anyways. AND why does Utah do this? Utah already has Kanter/Favors/Haywood.
2.) this makes a little sense.
3.) the suns have no use for Chandler. A.) he'll be 32 B.) he wont be able to run the floor

i know the idea of going after Rondo to keep Melo in NY has been floated around. But has the thought of sending Melo to Boston for a couple players and picks been thrown around.

Boston trades:
Wallace/Green/Atlanta 2014 First/2015 Clippers First/2016 Brooklyn First/2018 Brooklyn First
NY trades:
Melo

Yeah, these arent GREAT firsts....but they are picks. And while Wallace and Green are signed for two more years, it forces your GM not to make any stupid FA signings and let the team start from scratch. Additionally, this gives NY time to let Smith/Felton expire if they cant find anything of value for them.

IF they traded Shump for a late first this year, then they would have NO commited BAD salary for the 2016/2017 season (for now) except for rookie deals.....which they would have 6 rookie deals under contract and hopefully a crap ton of cap space to work with.

We are the knicks if we dont throw in a pick trades dont get completed and  stop ruining my fantasy trade, pick on someone else!

but yeah regarding that melo to celtics trade i dont think boston would surrender that many picks. But id do that trade any day of the week

So NY not only gives up a top 10 player in the NBA but in the process also has to take back long term deal of Green and the carcass of Gerald Wallace. Thats despite when they have all that cap space in 2015 and can sign Rondo outright and even lure the likes of Love, Gasol etc.... Great so we give our star to our rivals in the same division, take back contracts that kills cap flexibilty in 2015, for 4 low picks that go all the way to 2018. Yeah sounds great :-?

P.S and we have to pleasure of watching Carmelo kill the knicks 4 times a year

I would like to hear what the moderators would do if they were to become the next Knick GM and have complete control of personnel moves?

Jeff Van Gundy stated during the knicks gm yesterday that the knicks should Keep Carmelo, Tyson, Hardaway, Tyler and get rid of the rest and surround those players with Hungry defensive minded players... You know he prob is right... If we are going to at least compete next year we need to bring in some tough scrappy players who play with heart and energy... Dont waste another year of Melo's prime...If the team plays with some passion then NY would appeal to FA's in 2015 when they have all that cap space

I think he was sending a message to Mills/Dolan that if you want him to come back to New York then here's what i need you to do and that's getting rid of everyone but Melo,Chandler,Timmy and Tyler and bring in some guys that want to play defense. Tough task.

Is anybody opposed to an Amar'e for JSmith swap in the offseason? Smith is still a good PF, especially defensively. He's just regressed because he's playing SF and doesn't realize that he can't shoot 3s.

Then all we need is to trade Shump and an expiring for a point guard. Maybe even add our 2015 first if it could net the right guy. For example, Shump + Bargnani for Teague + filler.

Tyson
Smith
Melo
Hardaway
Teague

Get us back to the playoffs!

...or if that doesn't work we could target Reggie Jackson for the same package. Best case Phoenix would probably deal Bledsoe with Dragic breaking out. So we could include a first for him and make this team very good.

Tyson
Smith
Melo
Hardaway
Bledsoe

The point is not getting to the playoffs its actually trying to win a championship... Getting Josh smiths for Amares expiring is doing everything wrong all over again... Only player who we should even consider trading the expiring amare contract is a PG like rondo...

Okay, but that second lineup is a contender. Especially if Hardaway improves, and Bledsoe stays healthy.

It depends man. Stupider things have happened. They already have their all-star PG in Dragic. I could see them moving him to us for our 2015 pick, an expiring, and Shump.

We could even make it a three way trade to send Amar'e back to Phoenix. This really could work.

Although IDK if we could even trade our 2015 pick.

Return to New York Knicks
