There was a nice BR Article of about the heats defense sharpening up because they arent trapping everybody the same and are more traditional defending the short roll.

This is good the trap defense should be used only in stretches to swarm the opponent before they get wise

I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Butler removing rearview mirror in his car as a symbol to never look back

Here's the article.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Deploy it like a full-court press - you might have some token pressure all the time, but based on circumstances, dial it up. If a team has the skillset to turn your aggressive play around and hurt you, use a more conservative style.

Spo = GOAT, yup I said it.

^ But anyway, that article is good stuff. Ethan Skolnick to me is one of the top heat beat writers.

Spo caught on about the constant blitzing, and all it took was months of some of us bitching about it and then the players asking him to tweak it. obviously GOAT coach move.

But seriously, Spo isn't perfect by any means and still has some of his old flaws but he's young, smart, tough and he's getting better. So glad to have him and congrats to him.

Always good to see Spo get a little shine. Even with (what I perceive to be) his flaws, he'll perpetually get too little credit and too much blame as things shake loose, but he's definitely a smart guy.

If you look around enough, you can find endless bitching about any coach, regardless of outside perception. I think my high point there was a thread on a huge Spurs board entitled 'How many rings has Pop cost us?'. I've eased back a little on the criticism after that.

Read the same board on a semi regular basis. It's amazing how many posters are like doppelgangers on this board with the same "He only wins because he has Duncan, Parker and Manu" and "He sucks because he doesn't play all 15 players 20 minutes a game".

He knows these guys sacrificed individual numbers to win so he made the right move and Lebron have his career night. If Lebron would have gotten hurt with them up 20 you know Spo would have gotten hung for it, Its nice to see him put his neck out there.

in all fairness, I haven't seen one poster making this statement and I personally would never say he "sucks" he's still the coach, I can disagree without being disrespecting/insulting.

Beasley was signed as as an 10th-12th acquisition but it's not hard to find comments that he needs to start or play a bigger role . There was a post, not going to bother to look it up, that had "smh at having 5 players who won't play a minute in the playoffs" in a thread. The point is every fanbase criticizes the coach at one point or another. Read the Michael Beasley defense thread. Google Spobot. Spo has a great record as a head coach, but the number of people who refuse to give him credit for putting his players in the best position to succeed are legion.

I understood your point, and that you probably were exaggerating the bold statement above, I was making my point that bo one ACTUALLY said that. I created this thread to give credit and/or praise where it's due as I have been a critic of his.

I am surprised that after over 300 views only one page of congrats.....

You still didn't address my main point which was that every fanbase rags on the coach. That was the whole point in my reply to a guy who was obviously referencing the whole Spurstalk vibe.

I did, I just didn't elaborate, was it necessary when I understood your point?

Did you post a congratulation in this thread? If not, do that first cause that was MY POINT
