For the 4th or 5th time in this thread:

A team that amnesties a player cannot re-sign them until after the original contract would expire. Miller's contract with the Heat ran through 2014-2015, just like Haslem's. They cannot reacquire Miller until after that point, no matter what his status. Free agent or trade, doesn't matter. The rule is there to keep teams from paying a huge amount of money to a player off the Cap while playing for a Vet minimum on the books.

It was a bit more than just minutes; But its not important. If Riley wanted Caron, he would have Caron on this team. At the end of the day, Riley knows this season is set and that at the end of the day, this team is going to win just like this. If Caron was cut earlier in the season I could maybe see a differnt attempt but not at this point in the game.

can u specify on what other than minutes? If u cant, thats fine. Its just interesting to me, all of us thought Caron was a lock. Its shocking to see him go elsewhere.

Could it be with Sefolosha hurt Caron will get more mins than expected not to mention maybe Caron wants to showcase himself to get another contract which would not mesh with the current culture of team first and sacrificing for the team?

we don't need anymore big ego players. we brought in those players we didn't thought would fit but they're fine playing with BIW. LeBron needs to be rewarded by a ton of role players not necessarily stars who can play 3d(shoot trey and defend).

any news if the heat will sign liggins to another 10 day contract? i have a gut feeling that heat will offer metta a 10 day deal.

So, Beverley was jawing with the Heat's players pretty much every second he was on the court, which was exactly 1,972 seconds. At one point, it appeared like Heat coach Erik Spoelstra subbed Cole out of the game so Cole wouldn't completely lose his mind and do something stupid. Cole might be the most level-headed player in the NBA, by the way. After the halftime buzzer, Udonis Haslem walked over to Beverley for a brief conversation. I asked Haslem about that conversation... "I was just giving him a hard time," Haslem said. "It was nothing serious. I just told him to stop talking crap and looking over at our bench. I know Pat. I think he the spent the summer with us. He's a hard-nosed kid, a real competitor, and I respect the road that he took and the success that he had, but he was just doing a lot of yapping and I told him to stop looking at our bench and talking crap. Gotta love Haslem

Caron was going to play behind Wade and Allen, he was not going to play Beasley role. He was only going to take Allen's minutes. Im not mad at Caron, he had higher expectations of himself and he wanted to play for a contender and be a contributor.
