Ilgauskas Jersey Retirement

Post#1 » by B Mac » Mon Mar 3, 2014 3:20 am

One of my favorite players of all time, and a great guy both on and off the court gets his number retired by the Cavs this Saturday. Z deserves the honor for his great play, but also more importantly for the kind of guy he is off of it.

I'm sure it will be an emotional night. Big Z isnt one to get teary eyed, but I am looking forward to seeing his face when the whole crowd yells "ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!" one last time.

Are any of you guys going? I'm considering buying tickets, but dont know if I can make it work with my schedule.

Also, I mentioned it in the other thread, but LeBron plans on being there. I sure hope his presence doesnt overshadow Big Z's night. I say stick him in a suite somewhere and let Z and LeBron know that he was there to support him.

If I didn't have prior commitments I'd be there.

Z's the man, I've been watching the Cavs since his rookie year and through the injuries. I'm happy he's getting his jersey retired, he went through a lot and gave us fans many great years.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!

Class act.

It would be nice to give him a hand one last time, but I won't be there either.

Hopefully LeBron isn't the only former teammate that makes an appearance. I really don't think he'll be a disctraction anymore. People are going to be nice to him now hoping he returns.

Congrats to big Z, he will always be one of my favorite Cavs players. Anyone find it ironic that Brown, the guy who gave him the "DNP-coaches decision" on the first night home after a long road trip when everyone thought he would break the most games played record as a Cav will be there? I know he has to be there, but I wonder if he will speak at all.

If ladouchebag shows I hope he hears crickets if is rotten name is announced Have some pride Cleveland and don't kiss his behind show him the love he showed you but don't disrespect yourselves
Screw Ladouchebag forever and always
Screw most owners that are stupid and greedy
Screw the devil david stern
Screw the officials that handed the heat a championship
And screw the media that loves to tell us who we should love and why.

I can't fathom the scenario that would lead to his name being announced.
Most you'll likely see is a shot of him on the scoreboard.
Hopefully the biggest roar is for the man of the hour.

Hopefully he does! That would be better than anything that would happen on the floor if you ask me.
Seriously though, I hope he has gotten he help he needed and is doing well. My daughter and her friend met some of the players back when he was here and she said what a really nice guy he was, he took more time than anyone else talking with them. She also said Andy was really nice as well.
On a side note, she and another friend ran into Tyler Zeller at Strongsville mall and he took the time to pose for a picture with her and her friend. Its nice to see that the players aren't too busy to take time out for the younger fans.

That intro video was amazing. I saw them setting it up on Tuesday and knew it would be cool, but my god was that awesome.

This might be in the wrong thread but the Jason Lloyd article about LeBron has me confused. He talks about CG repairing the relationship with LB and that Z and LB are really close. But then goes on to say that both CG and Z will not be here next year and the Cavs still have a good shot at getting LeBron?? HUH?
