Because NOLA understands they have no shot at the playoffs this year, and the addition of a potential elite-level talent is much more worthwhile than getting the 10th seed.
aka...NOLA tanking. Hard. Look at how much they've been playing Austin Rivers lately.
Sigh, the way things are playing out. Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Los Angeles will all make the playoffs before Sacramento
You really think this draft is or was going to have a major impact in this teams turnaround? Seriously? This team has done the "tank" thing and are lucky to have come out with a Demarcus Cousins. Those are the types you tank for. I see maybe 2 players in this draft worth tanking for. The rest? Not so much. Now, this team could lose every game from here on out and still have less than at best a 50% chance at landing either of them. Of course, one of them also plays the same spot as Rudy Gay so...
The Kings will contend when they get more experience, sign a few guys who fit the needs, and trade for some others that make more sense of this team. You have 3 players getting 20 points a night, now more Reggie Evans' please.
And what do you call playing McLemore and McCallum minutes? I call it development, which leans towards tanking no matter how you look at it.
