Matias Laba to Vancouver on loan from TFC.
No details at this point but it's done. Hope he'll be able to return to Toronto next season.

Now confirmed to be traded, not loaned.
Not happy about that move, though we had no leverage.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
My top 5 in each conference goes
WEST
1. Seattle Sounders
2. Real Salt Lake
3. Portland Timbers
4. San Jose Earthquakes
5. LA Galaxy
Not many changes from last season, it will be a tight battle 1-3, and LA and SJ comfortably take the 4-5 spots. I think Vancouver will fall a lot without a player like Camilo. Chivas USA will be the surprise of season.
EAST
1. Sporting Kansas City
2. New York Red Bulls
3. Toronto FC
4. New England Revolution
5. Chicago Fire
I got the Fire in the playoffs over Union and Dynamo simply because Mike Magee. DCU will be good, but the second half of the season will see them more focused on CCL than the league that they'll be struggling to keep up with, I got them around 6-8.

MLS Power Rankings: Which team leads the poll before the season opener?
Clink the link for the full rankings: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2 ... son-opener
1.Got to give the champs their due, as they look deep and balanced all over the field. Problem is they've looked very sluggish defensively this preseason.
2.The Timbers seem to have upgraded their defense with the addition of Norberto Papparatto, and Gaston Fernandez should be a consistent threat up top. No obvious weaknesses to speak of, save for a clear-cut go-to goalscorer.
4.Jason Kreis is gone, but all the important on-field talent returns. For the kids -- Gil, Schuler, Sandoval and a handful of others -- it should be "older and better." But what does it mean for the 30-something brigade that still makes up the backbone of the team?
10.Addition by subtraction? That's the consensus, with newly minted head coach Carl Robinson replacing the far too conservative Martin Rennie. Now, whether it's the case with replacing departed Golden Boot winner Camilo is another thing entirely.
14.We're not all aboard the bandwagon just yet. Michael Bradley still needs a partner in central midfield and the defense still needs to show that they can recapture their late-season form from last year. Plus, Gilberto has to get fit

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Another Union supporter right here. I barely watched them at all last season, but am hoping they can get back into the Playoffs in 2014. I know they've made a lot of deals. Probably couldn't name anyone on the squad besides Jack Mack and LeToux at this point.

I am expecting playoffs, but with Casey and Williams injuries it could hurt us early. To be honest Im more excited to see Maidana than Edu, although neither are goalscorers Maidana will give us some creativity that we've lacked.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
I am really hopin the Timbers have improved their defensive line. They've got the offensive power, butthe backline was a bit of a weak point for the team last season. If they could improve that even just a little, big tihngs are in store for them. Go Timbers!!!!!!!!!!!

Supposedly we got a big time acquisition at CB in the offseason, although I wish we had kept Silvestre. Before the injury, he was the best CB in MLS. I can't stand Futty and Pa Mo Du Kah...that pairing is a heart attack waiting to happen.
I guess we picked up a real striker too.

No one's that bad.
Plus looking at the list lots have FIFA experience in Europe and so forth. It will be bad, but doesn't sound like it will be a complete Toledo disaster.

It's a loan with a buy provision in one year. But Bebs said the buying price was so high that either they won't do it or would give us the situation where we could get an equal replacement.
