Out-benched

On the grounds that I was too late to the game-thread party I thought I'd put my thoughts down here:

We were out-benched (new word?) last night, but overall I was just disappointed with the play of the starters as well, we seemed to lapse quite frequently.

PG was very inefficient and we should have gone to a third scorer - West being the second scorer and incredibly efficient. But Lance talked himself out of the game in that bust-up with Crawford (and had to spend a lot of energy playing Thompson), Hibbert was unable to dominate either Bogut or O'Neal and Hill was in his first game back having to spend all his energy guarding Curry (understandable).

So that leads me to the idea we were out-benched, apart from Scola regaining his composure after a bad run we saw ET having terrible trouble getting into the game, again, presumably because he quite frequently had to guard a good player. CJ and Ian were not on for long enough to get rhythm and neither can be expected to turn a game around. This leaves me to two further conclusions: ET is still bedding in and we have time to get that working, Vogel doesn't like the other options on the bench in crunch-games. I missed Rasual coming on to provide some legit perimeter threat for example, I also wonder if it would have been worth testing Lavoy against Draymond Green who had too much impact, as did O'Neal, coming in.

Overall disappointing loss that leaves some questions. On the other hand, I have felt that GSW were contenders from the start of the season and today they demonstrated that they are, which will please Oakland but should worry us.

PG tends to jack up shots when he's not hitting an that hurts us. I don't mind him shooting but when a defenders right in your face I wish he would pass to someone else instead of trying to make the shot.

As a 76ers fan let me tell you this. Get used to this ET and also get used to the other ET that can score 18 points off the bench. This is his game inconsistency. There are times he looks like a world beater and there are times when he will get beaten by everyone and anyone. I like the guy and wanted him to succeed in the worse way in philly. But the guy is as inconsistent as they come.

Yeah I am beginning to think we are playing to achieve two goals: Get top seed and make PG as high-profile as possible - one has to give unfortunately and for me it should be the latter.

As an anarok that watches about 12 games a week I saw quite a bit of ET this season (Mainly in the beginning when you were surprising the socks off of everybody) and yes, I have seen this in him. It won't be as much of a problem with him coming off the bench, but he needs to perform when the demand is there, I hope he will somehow work that one out.

Fair assessment, he has been getting into foul trouble a lot and hasn't been able to dominate the post. I genuinely would like to see Vogel resting the starting five more and changing the overall rotation to make use of the depth we have.

GSW is able to play great vs good teams...then blow a game against a rather average team. Don't knock Hibbert...Bogut is big too and a fine D guy..they cancelled each other. GSW's backcourt...out shot the Pacers...which should not be a big surprise...while PG toasted Iggy...however Barnes and Dray Green did fine so SF wasn't a toal matchup mismatch. Jordan Crawford...surprised me... he WAS a low efficiency scorer..now scores as much, but better %.

Funny...a couple months ago GSW fans fussed that the bench was all "role" types and nobody seemed to score...but they have improved that. Now if we can jumpstart Iggy so he's scoring a bit.....

The warriors game is probably one that I'm least concerned with. The bobcats game was probably the worst I've seen this year
