Ethan Skolnick and Ira said it best on Twitter yesterday. Olbermann's rant is quite ironic and moronic if you ask me. He is ranting that the world is going crazy over his 61 when he works for the network that is responsible for doing so. First Take, Sportscenter, Numbers Never Lie, Around the Horn, PTI, and ESPN.com all led with LeBron's 61 and this guy has the nerve to complain about it being over-hyped. I mean if you are the producer on the show don't you warn Keith so he doesn't look like an idiot? "Umm...Keith, this show is on ESPN and we are the ones leading almost every show/SC segment with it."

The level of idiocy, hypocrisy and stupidity of today's media is astounding.

I'm a big Olberman fan, watched him when he was first with ESPN, then watched him on MSNBC, and am glad to see him back. To me the biggest problem with his rant was that in order to downplay Lebron's 61, he kept referencing Wilt's numbers as if in today's era they matter the same. Everyone recognizes how Wilt's numbers were artificially inflated (though still impressive). Using them to downplay Lebron's 61 is really just grasping at straws.

Not only that why does LeBron's 61 performance need to be compared to Wilt? LeBron scoring 61 doesn't take anything away from all other greats/great performances. It was just a great performance in its own right. His rant was wrong on so many counts. I didn't watch it live but I listened to it on the podcast and I kid you not, I had to turn it off. He seriously came off as a crazy old man losing his mind with the yelling and incoherent rambling. Not to mention his employer is the one leading almost every other show on its network with "LeBron's 61". Get a grip, man.
