Would be nice if Eagles could sign J.Byrd then use first pick on a pass rusher or NT.

Cooper had more than just two good games this season. Best mid-season fantasy pick-up of mine in years.

Maclin is back on a 1 year deal. Offense seems to be set at every position. Wouldn't rule out adding depth at WR in the draft given the position is really deep this class. And Maclin beyond this season is unknown along with him stayin injury free this season.

Now defense defense and more defense.

I think Maclin bounces back well. Regarding the draft they're going to go BPA at every pick, and rightfully so. But hopefully that BPA is a defender haha.

I don't think Howie/Chip will target any FA above 30 years old unless they're real game changers.

What about all this talk about Dion Jordan? Personally I'm all for it but, I'm not so sure I wana give up this year's first round pick. Where would Dion realistically land in this year's draft if he had not committed in last year's anyway?

I'm all for it too. I'd probably give up our first rounder but I'd want another draft pick too somehow. I'd say he'd go pretty high again if he were in this years draft.

Eagles have plenty of cap space to play with. One is more realistic but would'nt it be great if Birds could land Byrd and Ward to secure the FS and SS spots? 2 of the best Safeties in the game today. It would change the focus on the draft to front 7, WR prospects.

Eagles have to improve the pass rush before spending big money on the secondary. If you can't pressure the QB, it doesn't matter who you have in pass coverage. Safetys are a luxury, that's why Ward and Byrd aren't going to be resigned by their own teams.

Byrd turned down big money from bills and ward is likely to stay with browns. No pass rusher is available so will have to get one in the draft

The only way you're improving the pass rush is through the draft and hoping your talent improves after a season under a new system. Pass rushers are pretty much locked up. By adding one of the two Safeties you at least eliminate a "need" in the first rd with your pick. You also open up the potential to trade up and...ready for this? Draft a pass rusher. May be a reach to expect Eagles to move up far to land such a talent. But adding a proven, established ball hawk in a position that has suffered since Brian Dawkins was here...how long do you continue to ignore this spot? You have the cap space to upgrade the Safety position. Do it.

I'd be shocked if we went after Byrd/Ward. Just doesn't seem the way Howie wants to do things now. We'll target the 2nd tier guys who will be a lot cheaper and continue to build through the draft.

I agree. He'll bring in mid level free agents and continue to draft BPA. He has the Eagles in a great situation cap wise in the present and future. This will be the 3rd draft he will be responsible for and hopefully it will be as successful as the past two. Chip is also on board with this philosophy.

I rather draft Pryor and go with Wolff at the Safety spot than those two.

I really hope, now that we're truly contending, that someone steps up as a leader of the offense AND defense. Vick was clearly the captain so with him gone I really hope Foles steps up as a true leader. Seems like a real good kid so it's certainly possible. I can't see Shady or Desean stepping up as they are more of the joking type. Their the REALLY GOOD joking type, but not captains.

On defense maybe Kendrichs and Ryans? I know Ryans was last year and Kendrichs was said to be a Dawkins like leader at Cal. I wonder who comes out as the captains of the team.
