I've been wildly optimistic about TRoss for a while now (see sig.) but all I can hope fore is continued minutes and that somewhere within himself he finds the hunger to grow all of his gifts to their full potential.

This seems like a good locker room for him to develop in too as far as being inspired by the hard work of others.
Pascal to the future.

IMO Ross is like Ray Allen with less offense but more defense. They are both around the same body type, and both have great shooting form and release. Raptors should really break out young Ray Allen tapes for Ross to watch and try to emulate.

Really though, Demar is our SF, and Ross is our SG.

Because some people just don't like DeRozan. And he will always be billed as our top dog.

IDGAF as long as we're winning games and playing hard. Once you accept the fact that the Raptors likely won't be winning a championship while Lebron/Durant are still in the league they become more fun to watch.

I'll admit though I was ready to give up on TRoss the boss.

lol it's funny this is being brought up while he's injured. I would understand if such a crazy statement was made after the 51 point game.

I guess missing 1.5 games makes fans appreciate how much we need his scoring. Even if he's not making it, he's still a threat.

No, not at all. When Gay was here, he was considered the head honcho. Lowry is considered to be the leader of the team for a lot of fans too. If a better guy comes in, he'll be billed as the top dog. Heck, Bargnani was on top of the food chain when he was here.

First part is true, some people just don't like him or too proud to admit they were wrong.

I haven't seen anyone with his bounce, speed with the ball and going north/south, east/west with his size (he is almost on the same level as russell westbrook in terms of that). Once he puts on some more muscle and learns the game, add that with very good jumper only getting better, he will literally be unstoppable.

http://espn.go.com/nba/players/_/position/sf/league/e

Ross is listed as a SF which puts him in the same category with LeBron James, Paul George,& Carmelo Anthony. At 195 lbs, Terrence gives away 55 lbs to James, 25 lbs to George and 40 lbs to Anthony. He needs to maintain his quickness but, develop size and strength at the same time. The addition of some post up moves would be nice, too.

A superstar? Relax there, you guys use that term so loosely in here.

Ross will grow to be a very good player BUT if he wants to reach superstar status he needs to live at the ft line, and thats somethimg he has never shown even during his college days. In order to live at the line, he's gotta develop some handles too, something he doesnt have yet.

Derozan early on was afraid of contact and couldn't take it to the rack consistently now he's getting to the Ft line at a high clip, Ross defense is already better than DD and he will learn from his work ethic and eventually become a superstar like Derozan did.

Let's not get way ahead of ourselves guys  I'm a huge fan and trust me, if he was 20 right now I would really be on board as well. He is 3 years older than his draft class so I'll keep my expectation meter in check. I think this reminds me of how exciting it was to have AB in his rookie season when he could contribute on a good team. I just think it's super exciting to have a player that can take over when hot and is a legitimate shutdown defender. Let's enjoy the ride and hope he can improve!

Wow.

Just wow. So Demar is already a superstar. And Ross will become one. Let's get the message out, see if Masai can trade Ross for a pick at draft time and get Wiggins.

Seriously, I'll just keep harping on Ross until he takes his game up to average, let alone star, let alone superstar. I ragged on DD for years, like lots of us, saying "all" he had to do was develop an outside shot, preferably a 3pt shot, to be a borderline All-star. And that panned out. As to Ross, he looks a lot more like Gerald Green than D-Wade at this point. But "all" he has to do is improve his 3pt shooting, defense, dribbling and passing, and he'll be a borderline star.

Even as a rookie with terrible handles, Derozan still got to the line a lot more than Ross is. He just has better body control than Ross and is better at finishing in traffic.

Derozan got to the line 192 times in his rookie season and 402 times as a sophomore. To put that into perspective, Ross has only got to the line 109 times so far in his first 2 seasons. Even though Demar averaged more minutes, it still isn't hard to see that Ross doesn't have that same ability to get to the line.

DeRozan's mentality is SF, while Ross' mentality is SG.
I don't think Ross will get the same contact DeRozan is getting, except for the pump fake.

I think Ross' spin move will be his key, but his footwork and ball handling are not at the level of making him do the spin at any time / any moment.

Rudy Gay has a step back cross over hesitation move, I think Ross can develop two (spin move and something). However, his shoulder and chest are not faking enough, which may limit him only with ball handling or lower body fakes.

Since the trade Ross is averaging. (40 gms): 12.5 ppg, 29.2 mpg, 10.6 FGA, 42% 3FG.
In his second year Demar was. 17ppg, 34.8 mpg, 14.1 FGA 46% FG

I think if Ross had as many shots and played as many minutes as Demar he would've been posting up similar numbers. But who knows

Demar gets to the line 7-8 times a game. Ross gets to the line 7-8 times a season.

Ross will not even be as good as Demar let alone the best SG in the league. Plus he is only a year younger than Demar. It's nice to see Ross making strides but he's got a PER of 12.00!

He could end up being a very useful player but not an allstar.
