So Many Wings

So it just dawned on me that we have too many wings on this roster. I think that everyone wants us to either draft or sign out of FA another perimeter scorer, if not both, but we already have Hendo, MKG, JT, CDR, Neal and Tolliver. Tolliver and CDR are FAs after this season, but they are also pretty solid assets and I'm not thrilled about letting them walk.

I'm starting to think hard about packaging a couple of our wings with a pick and upgrading our roster via a sign and trade or something. Cho needs to figure out how to diversify the roster a little bit.

Tolliver is really a stretch 4. I don't even consider him a wing even tho Clifford plays him at SF. We need to find a taker for Hendo this offseason no matter what's the return as long as it isn't a lengthy bad contract. If we can add a SG this offseason like Hayward or Stephenson I would be content with Neal and CDR being 2nd-3rd string at SG.

Not one of those guys (except maybe Gilly) would be worth holding onto if an upgrade came along.

Tolliver is a 4. MKG is our defensive centerpiece. The rest are very available. Between Henderson, Taylor, CDR, and Neal, I'd trade Neal and Henderson, re-sign CDR, work JT back from his injury, and draft/sign a really good SG.

we could have really afforded an impact player this offseason if we hadn't given Hendo that contract. 6.5 million and I'm excited about having a D-League signing player starting in his spot. pisses me off so much the guy can't catch and shoot a 3 given his background and it being the biggest hole in his game since he's been in the league.

We can afford an impact player this offseason, unless 12 million a year won't get us one.

Problem is that there are a multitude of teams with abundant cap space. If we can sign someone like a Stephenson or even a Hayward along with the progession that Walker, MKG, and especially Zeller and Biyombo will make we will be in great shape. Not even counting the draft picks. We are set.

I doubt Cho could find a taker for Henderson attached to Charlotte's 2nd rounder. Albeit not a bad contract, within the new CBA, Henderson's contract is a hindrance for a team unless they're sure he's a great fit for their roster, and not too many GMs are sniffing around the league for a shooting guard that play like a small forward all the while stopping ball movement by trying to emulate the moves of all-time scoring greats, Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant

Gary Harris would add to it, but check out the 1:22 mark. That shooting form is picture perfect. Would be really nice to have not a great athlete, but a solid athletic SG who can shoot the ball and create off the dribble.

unfortunately just signing someone else means another player that I like more will probably be let go because we Hendos contract. I dunno about you guys but I'd be pissed if we had to give up 40% 3pt shooters like tolly or CDR over Hendo.

I dunno..maybe its just an irrational dislike but Hendo represents everything that was crappy about this team the last 3 years. tired of his crappy shots mid range shots. we actually look like we value possessions now.

I definitely don't hate on Hendo. I think hes still our starting two over CDR, by far. He brings intensity, and really nice defense. CDR needs more minutes off the bench though.

And the way our offense is off the bench we definitely need CDR there.

90% of Hendos plays are post ups or running off screens. meaning they are half court possessions that I'd much rather give to Al. So don't play them together...seems really simple to me. especially since I wanna throw up watching our half court offense when Al is resting.

1st line should be Kemba/CDR/MKG/McBob/Al

2nd line should be: Neal/Hendo/Tolly/Zeller/Biz

Seems like the best use of everyone to me.

I once thought that even with Zeller that PF was a massive weakness. With the way Zeller, and McRoberts have collectively played thats a strength now in my opinion.

Also seeing Zeller interview McRoberts in his "rookie" ordeal on bobcats.com where McRoberts said he was happy how his "rook" was playing makes me like our PF position even more. Need help at the two guard, and depth at PG. I love the makeup of this team though.

i think Gerald is the big hinderance for this team because he doesn't fit with anyone on the team..... he takes Al's post touches,he can't shoot from 3 or pass, he is a bad rebounder considering he has great leaping abilities, he is a good defender when he is engaged but he takes plays off sometimes and its already been said but he is a ball stopper to the max and also he lives and dies by the most inefficient shot in the NBA the mid-range jumper most of which are off-balance fade-aways

I'll be interested to see if JT has a future here though. He was already struggling pretty badly this year and an Achilles rupture is no joke. He probably won't be very good any time soon. I like him alright as a prospect but I don't know if we have time for him where we're trying to get

Rick Bonnell loves him, and has already written more positive articles about him than he has Walker and MKG combined. So he has a place Im guessing
