some random thoughts:
Cleveland's coaching staff have a good idea of how to coax Waiters into playing defense. A lot of young guys have trouble concentrating when being off the ball so you can just put them on the ball. Ridnour couldn't even really make it to the three point line with an aggressive Waiters on him. They could have put him on the PG for a few possessions more, imo.
in a way today's NBA is so simple. just look at how easy the game for CDR was. play off the better players and make open threes.
obviously, that brings me to Hendo. this is the easiest time to blast him but I just wanted to express how much I hate the fact that he always goes to the side of the court. damn it, Hendo, do you realize that you have less space there!? thus half of his jumpers end up being base-line fadeaways off the dribble over at least one defender.
CDR's arms flail forward so much after his jumper that it's almost the equivalent to kicking your legs out. thanks to that he got fouled twice on threes.
we sure do miss Sesh's penetration. the second unit seems to lack aggressiveness since all of those players rather take jumpers. I swear Ridnour hasn't had a successful drive to the basket yet. And upon checking out player tracking at NBA.com I was right - we haven't produced a single point after his (7 total) drives (any touch that starts at least 20 feet of the hoop and is dribbled within 10 feet of the hoop and excludes fast breaks)
Tristan Thompson had a few really dumb double teams. the game started off with Al being unnecessarily triple or even quadruple teamed (TT was the last one to close in) and a cross court pass to a McBob three and it basically ended when Thompson helped on Al 18 feet from the basket while McBob was a pass away.
two Dukies, Deng and McBob, and Pargo were talking after the final whistle. I loved Pargo raising his eyebrows and being baffled at what Deng had to say. He probably only needed one locker room story to surprise Pargo and Josh.
