Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
I think Foles grew into that leader role immensely as the season went on. Multiple times he pulled guys back from the other team yapping smack talk back at his teammates. And it was obvious that as the season went on the players around him trusted him more. I think it took a lot of time for guys like Shady and Jackson to realize the locker room wasn't Vick's anymore. The big loss is Avant IMO.
On defence you'd like to see Kendricks and maybe Boykin to grow into the role as a "leader" but right now its Meco for sure.

I rather draft Pryor and go with Wolff at the Safety spot than those two.
We have other needs in draft too plus I'm not sold on Pryor

Safety is definitely at the top of the needs list tho. Offensively I think we are set at every position besides WR. Even with Djax, Maclin, Cooper, adding a talent at WR should be done given this is a deep draft. But defensively is where most of our needs stem from. A pass rusher and Safety are our two biggest needs on that side of the ball.
Those two really aren't any much better than the Safeties we have had here. Time to get a ball hawk, playmaker at that position. If you're not going to sign the best one in free agency you should seriously consider them in this draft.
Who do you like/want in this class at our spot?

They are much better than what he have. At 22 it's hard to predict who's there but I'd take Ford or Denard realistically. Also Clinton Dix is much better than Pryor

Wouldn't say much better. Maybe a more proven cover Safety but outside of that? I think they grade out equally. Pryor being the more physical Safety of the two.

Disagree on them being much better. Neither are playmakers, ballhawks at that spot. Clemons isn't very good tackling. While Jenkins has been known to blown assignments in coverage. Not thrilled with either

Sign a safety, draft a corner, draft a OLB , Safety, then OG.

Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
I prefer to re-sign Nate Allen he played much better this past year and either Malcolm Jenkins or Antoine bethea plus take a chance on Deone Bucannon in the 3rd round. Keep Brandon Graham if We can't trade him and a 2nd round pick for Dion Jordan and draft Best OLB available in the 2nd round to groom behind Trent Cole. And with the first round pick grab CB Bradley Roby. 4th round go Nose Tackle and 5th OG. Our defense got better as The year progressed so I don't think We need drastic changes just minor tweeks and have guys to groom for the future.

Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
The Eagles GM has preached 2 things this off season
1.) Cap Flexibility
2 .) Taking the Best player available over need in draft
With that being said the Eagles are not gonna sign a guy like Jabari Bird who wants big money, I don't think he's worth 9 mil a year that's Troy Polamalu money. There gonna go after a second tier guy who won't break the bank like Malcolm Jenkins or Michael Mitchell from Carolina. As far as OLB goes I think Trent Cole will be back there not many 3-4 OLB out there and of course they will draft somebody Lamar Houston from the Raiders could be an option.
As far the draft goes there going to take best availabe, and with this draft being so Deep at WR I could see the Eagles taking a WR they want size if a guy like Kelvin Benjamin is there no doubt the Eagles take him. I think they take best available for the first 3 rounds then after that they start drafting for needs. A guy I love in the 3 round is Safety Johnathon Dowling Big athletic guy who can cover.

He has to work on catching otherwise his 15 TD catches would've been 25-30 last season.

He is a huge boom or bust candidate not worth the risk especially at a position we don't need

Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
WR is definitely a position of need. May not be higher than that of S and Pass rusher. But a top 4 need no doubt. A guy like Mike Evans falls to 22 and you dont take him? You need to be fired. Maclin health is a concern, he's only here for a year obviously lookin to cash in next offseason. Riley Cooper is he legit or was this a contract performance? Does he improve or regress? Djax may very well make another stink about his contract after the season.
