If coaching is anything like GMing, then I expect 1 championship!

I always thought coaching was the hardest part over being a GM. I mean a GM has a team of several people, while a coach has only 4 assistants. It isn't hard to find talent, while getting talent to rise to Championship level is a whole other thing.

I personally believe Phil Jackson will make a great GM. He has lots of knowledge. Knows what necessary to be a championship team. And lots of players will come to play for that team out of the respect and reputation he has

The question is... Can he be a GM while not coaching? If so there is potential for success. Just need Jackson to be willing to stick to one role, and put all his efforts into that. If Phil is all over the place, I think the Knicks will just eat him alive. There are some messes even the best can't clean up.

Truth it. I can't see him being a Pat Riley, but I think he can find success if he puts the right guys around him and trusts them, and DOLAN DOESN'T INTERFERE. Let's be honest, though.... that'll never happen.

Not to say being a good coach will definitely make someone a good GM.

But Phil has been around the league long enough to know the ins and outs of successful organizations and their decision making processes. I think he'll do just fine.

No reason to believe he'd want to coach the knicks. They aren't a contender. I think the idea of full control over the organization would appeal to him, though.

Screw the Knicks job. Phil Jackson should be the commissioner!

He has been a player, coach and engaged to one of the owners of the Lakers. There wouldnt be lock outs with Phil. He can see the issues from every perspective. He could get Shaq and Kobe to win together. For sure he could prevent the next lockout.

JK kinda. Knicks would be lucky to have Phil but they cant expect a contender overnight. It took the Kobe-Kwame-Luke-Smush-LO Lakers a few years to rebuild. Phil had a lot of impact on Mitch's decisions. As did Kobe. Phil is a great basketball mind. He could take some talented outcast and give them purpose.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

If Phil Jackson comes in, he'll bring his staff to do most of the work. Look for someone like Brian Shaw to become the Knicks "coach" but Phil Jackson will pull the strings like Riley does with Spolestra.

Having Phil Jackson running front office would help with the pursuit Free Agents in 2015 but as far as working trades the Knicks have assets to trade in summer of 2014 with excpiring of Chandler, Barganani and Stoudemire.

I just noticed this, but Robin Lopez looks just like Phil Jackson, and they both look like Matt Stone. Not old Jackson, but 90's Jackson with scruffy face. Just look at the face, I tell you.
