Re: GT #62: Wizards (32-29) @ Bucks (12-49) 9 PM CSN+
The Wizards shot 53.8% from the field -- 53.6% from 3. The Bucks shot 44.8% from the field -- 25% from 3. The Bucks made it close by outrebounding us by 7 and hitting their FTs (89.3% from the stripe versus our Nene tribute of 56.5%). But, while it was a horrible game to watch in the 2nd half, it's not as if the final stats were that ugly.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Too close for comfort in the 4th. Count our lucky stars that we won. We tried hard not to in the 2nd half.

Refs made this game closer than it should have. Yeah I said it. Happens majority of the time for the Wizards too.

Sad thing is, I think two of them were X Wizards.

now we go from playing the worst team in the league to the 2x defending champs.
Better get ready. But they (zards) also will probably spend tonight & tomorrow in S Beach. I wonder
if they didn't party it up some last night in MIL. Wall played like he was hungover
what with all the careless TOs and settling for long jumpers. The Heat should do
everything they can to make sure the wizards are worn out, tired and distracted.
Plus the Heat will be out for revenge after the way we clobbered them last time.

They must hate Randy or something about the team because I swear there were terrible calls the last time they reffed the wizards.

Has Wall turned Ariza into a scoring machine?
Imagine Wall and Durant. Scoring records and assist records would be broken.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

When they're crumbling they aren't very good defensively. They were on point to begin the game.

Compared with other games, reffing and Wittman weren't that bad last night.
Wiz were clicking on all cylinders in the first half and I thought Randy tried to pull some levers during the long 2nd half fade. Wall was careless and sloppy... That more than any of Randy's moves almost sunk us.

Re: GT #62: Wizards (32-29) @ Bucks (12-49) 9 PM CSN+
I didn't feel comfortable going into halftime with the 22 point lead. The team kept doing things to allow them to chip away at the lead to end the half; a 22 pt. lead just didn't seem to match the dominance that I had witnessed.
Should have gone into the half with a 26-30 point advantage.
I think the loss of momentum began at the end of the 2nd quarter, not the start of the 3rd and the 22 pt. lead masked the loss of it.
Wittman probably could've called a timeout. I imagine he was content with going into the locker room up 22.

The Wizards began to allow easy interior points during the collapse.
Wall had his moments when it seemed he was doing his all to make the game closer than it should've been...

A win is a win. I'll take it.
I'm not going to beat them up too much over the 2nd half collapse. The fact is, we weren't really 22 points better in the 1st half. We just shot ridiculously good from the floor including making 7 out of our first 10 three pointers. We then hit a stretch late in the 2nd quarter and through the 3rd when we missed 5 consecutive three pointers.
If our performance from the 3 point line was a bit more measured, we probably would have made 5 of our first 10 and then 2 of our next 5. That 22 point lead would have been just a 16 point lead at halftime, and the 21-10 beating we took in the 3rd quarter would have been a 21-16 beating. The narrative would have been a bit different. We would have jumped to a sizable but not insurmountable lead, and then let the opponent slowly get back into it, until we put them away down the stretch - a fairly typical story when a pretty good team plays a bad team on the road.

Out in DE where I live, I never know whether something scheduled for CSN+ will actually appear, or will I get the Philly programming that day -- can't figure out why it's inconsistent! In any case, last night I went out w/ friends and recorded what turned out to be the Philly-Utah game not ours.
From the box score, this looks like it might have been fun to watch -- collapse or no collapse -- given Drew Gooden having a tremendously productive stint and Andre Miller doing great as well.
Not to mention Martell returning to form after resting his back -- and maybe above all Ariza continuing to play at a stellar level. On the season, I view him as one of the top handful of SFs in the league. Based on WP48, he trails only James, Durant & Kawhi Leonard. Kevin -- I'd be interested to know where your system puts him among SFs.

For me it went from being the most enjoyable game of the season to very interesting...
I thought I would get the season's first start to finish rout by the Wizards; when they were unable to score in the third quarter and the Bucks began to trim their lead little by little, then I really tuned in to see how the team would react to adversity.
Would compare it to a title-holding, big name boxer getting rocked and hurt early in a late round by a lesser opponent but surviving off of skill and years of experience.
4 games above .500. I accept this as a good win; unlike the first meeting when the Wizards forced overtime then beat them.

Lord by the reactions, I'd think we lost by 20. Over analysis not good for soul.

I was never really that concerned even when they cut it to 3-4 points late.
I kept saying, MIL has only won 12 games. We are too much better than them
to lose a 28 point lead. More nerve racking than it should have been but dang,
we scored 75 in a half. We're rolling now. MIA could put an end to that. They need
to right their ship after losing 3 straight.
