This team should feel good about returning to the Finals

Post#1 » by Rock Hardy » Sun Mar 9, 2014 6:33 am

Seriously. We have played below our level all season. Spo has gone mad scientist on his lineups and the team has coasted through the first half of the season. Despite all of that, we're just 1.5 games back of not just 1st in the East, but in the entire NBA. And we're tied in the loss column That's just two extra games the team would have to rally through. Much easier than that 27 game winning streak last year.

We slack ass and can still challenge for the best record in the league. I'm not being a homer when I say this team is a serious problem for the league. I've stated calm all season because I've had confidence in this roster. Now that were nearing the end game for this season, I'm really getting a sense of destiny from this team.

How worried is the rest if the league? If you're a fan of another team, you can't be liking this. Playoff time the wick is gonna crank up high. This team has coasted in prior seasons, but not with the obvious aim of conservation like this season. Before, it felt like coasting out of boredom. This year feels like coasting to charge the cells for a late push. Am I the only one getting that vibe? This season had felt more focused and methodical than others, even with the lazy play. Like this team not only realizes its potential, but also its limits. That's a scary proposition for everyone else. I'm not anticipating fo-fo-fo-fo, but I'm actually expecting a bit of a blitzkrieg come postseason. If they're not already, the rest of the league should be fairly concerned. Miami taking a stroll can still keep up with the sprinters.

I just want health. Healthy Big3 is going to be a juggernaut this Summer, folks. Beliedat!

We really shouldn't be making threads like these man.. Just hope for good health, and enjoy the good seasons.

I'd prefer we stay under the radar with the focus on the younger up and coming contenders like OKC, Pacers, Rockets etc and on the performance of guys like KD, Paul George etc. More hype and attention to them.

Other teams fearing us, lols. I know you mean it in a figurative sense but thats still a wild notion. Anything can happen. This kind of cockiness should be placed in a bet of us vs. the field, not a forum lols.

We've had so many close calls, had to go to Game 7 against Boston to reach the Finals', back to back Game 7's last year. They're not that "scared" of us.

They're not scared, if anything they're hungry. 3-peating is a very difficult thing to do...so just hope for the best.

Are you talking from a fan perspective? Because I can tell you with 100% certainty that Oklahoma City, Clippers, Houston, Spurs and Indiana aren't even close to being afraid of you

Put it this way: No one is afraid of us, they´re afraid we won´t fall, this team is on the brink of historical greatness.

Thanks for the retitle, focus on the positive which looks pretty good overall - we could be one of the teams trying to make the lottery. I remember those days and did not enjoy the season at all.

Except in the playoffs you're not playing the scrubs that you lose to when you're coasting hard.

You're playing the elite teams (in later rounds). And against a few of those teams the Heat were pretty motivated and still lost.

I don't want the league to be afraid. I want them to underestimate the Heat. I'll take health, and a bit of luck in the conference finals and finals, over anything else.

When Miami is locked in and Wade is relatively healthy, they aren't getting touched.

The emergence of Michael Beasley via Spo loosening up his grip on dated rotations, is critical.

Now that is not to say someone like Indiana wouldn't take them to 6 games, or Pop getting the Heat to 7 games again based on how he defends LeBron, but outside of those teams, Miami is in good shape.

An absolute matchup problem, in my opinion, for them would be a team like Golden State.

Offensively, they are fine, they just have stop being so lackadaisical on the boards and close out on defense, which are effort issues.

Locking this, since it isn't even the postseason yet.
