I think the only downside is you'd lose scoring off the bench, but Spo rarely plays him so it's kind of a wash.

Anyone else think Beasley deserves a shot as starting PF?

Not sure but Battier needs to stop starting at PF. Enough is enough.

I wouldn't start him there, but the way he's playing right now, he warrants to be the first man off the bench. With Cole and Allen being as subpar as they are, Beasley and Bird are our best options off the bench.

My brother in law argues: If you don't like Beasley's defense, that's fine, but Battier can't play defense so what's the difference? At least when Beasley gives up points, he can narrow the margin between him and his opponent because Beasley is capable of scoring 15-20ppg.

My brother-in-law said he was like 5 for his last 73. I want to say he was joking, but I wouldn't doubt if he was close with his figures.

I think he should be given a shot to carve in to 5 minutes of Battier's time. Battier in 10mpg can give you solid minutes, but anything past that and his production & impact drops off. It's just like with Joel Anthony.

That's a nice block, no doubt, but he gets beat more often than not. BTW, I noticed you have your own site. It'd be great if you could make a web page with all the gifs you created. :)

Yeah, he was definitely exaggerating . What's weird is that 15/45 = 33%, but NBA.com said he averaged 36.8% FG for February. Did you only use 3PTMs? Either way, averaging 5.5ppg (in February) at those percentages is tough as a starter. That's like playing 4-on-5 offensively. I hope he can raise his FG%.

Im not for it. Just too many people that need the ball. Mr contract at PG. Mr noknees at SG sometimes. Mr imtired at SF. Mr imnotacenter at C. Beasley wouldnt fit at starting PF...as stupid as that sounds. Id rather move battier to the bench and push cb to the 4 and start bird or oden depending on the matchup. Beas should be first off the bench and in with lbj.

I agree with needing the ball, but Beasley has shown he can hit the spot up J. I also like your alternative with starting Birdman. I guess the only drawbacks to both ideas would be losing depth off the bench.
